Best archer build? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-21-04, 04:20 PM Can anyone point me to where the archer builds are? Looking for a sniper/secondary fighter type.

06-21-04, 04:34 PM If you are looking for a strict 3.5 build, there are very few, because the 3.5 PrC's are scarce in the archer aspect (and most of them aren't very good). If some 3.0 material is acceptable, however, then you are in luck. Click the link below, in my sig.

06-22-04, 01:26 AM Ah. So, using Snow's 3.0 Combat Archer build, converting it to 3.5, and going the exact same leveling progression...

...you only get six attacks instead of the initial eleven at level 20?

Le sigh. I had high hopes for a badass archer in a upcoming game, but that outright sucks for such a high level character.

Back to boring hack n' slash builds.

Human Psychic Warrior 8/ Order Of The Bow Initiate 10/ XX 2

Feats:
PW 1: Psionic Meditation, Narrow Mind, Weapon Focus
PW 2: Point Blank Shot
PW 3: Precise Shot
PW 5: Psionic Shot
PW 6: Rapid Shot
PW 8: Greater Psionic Shot
OotBI 9: Manyshot
OotBI 12: Deep Impact
OotBI 15: ??
OotBI 18: Greater Manyshot

Powers:
Hustle. All you need.

Tactics:
Simple really. Shoot once as a standard action, regain focus as a move. Rinse repeat. Until level 9, you will only shoot 1 arrow a round, but then again, 1 arrow is all you really need.
Greater Psionic Shot, Deep Impact and OotBI's Precise Shot merges very well together, allowing you to do 6d8 + 4d6 + bonuses as a touch attack every round, with minimal power point expenditure.

Manyshot allows you to fire more than one arrow (for a few extra d8s) and Greater Manyshot allows you to attack multiple opponents with a single attack. All in all, quite lovely.

06-22-04, 10:44 AM If you're into psionics, take the Fell Shot feat - you may expend your psionic focus to make your attack as a ranged touch attack.

06-22-04, 11:30 AM you cant fell shot and greater psionic shot at the same time unless you have a psicrystal holdign a focus for you

06-22-04, 12:24 PM I know this, but if you were facing, say, a dragon, Fell Shot might come in handy. It's all about the situation...both come in handy at different times.
