Depends on the Wizard.

Like Necromancy? Obviously Arcane Reach.
Like blowing **** up? Mastery of Elements and Shaping!
Have no other damage spells? Arcane Fire.
Like Counterspelling? Mastery of Counterspelling!

Spell Power is decent, but less good than it was in the 3.0 FRCS. Spell like ability can be handy too. Greater Teleport is an example.

Shaping is best if you want to abuse AMF
Reach is great since it's Reach Spell +0 adjustment
Counterspelling is awesome for a counterspelling build
SLA is great if you find yourself grappled or in tight situations a lot.

SLA is good with any cloning effect in conjunction with certain Personal range spells.

SLA: limited wish

Other than using a 5th level slot to cast a 7th level spell twice a day, whats the benefit?

SLA: limited wishThat would be nice (as would SLA: Wish) if not for this line. The archmage does not use any components when casting the spell, although a spell that costs XP to cast still does so and a spell with a costly material component instead costs her 10 times that amount in XP.

@dog45: The intent was probably to cast the spell without paying XP. As above, that doesn't work.

The 300 XPs are almost nothing by the time you can cast limited wish. I like it since it's a get out of jail free card since it's a heal (5th level adept spell), raise dead, teleport, polymorph, and more when i need it

Yeah, that's what I figured. But, I wasnt sure if ninjarabbit didnt have some wonky loophole that made it viable otherwise.

edit: ninjarabbit - i suppose so. I tend to hoard my XP though.

Typically, its not neccessary to have all of the High Arcanas, leaving you more room to take other PrCs that are good for dips like Geometer and Divine Oracle.

Like with crafting magic stuff if I'm at a lower level as a result of my spending XPs then I'll actually be more experience for my encounters than I would be if I hoarded my XPs

SLA works better for spontaneous casters since they can swap out spells.

or Sorcerer...

Otherwise, GaffeR hit it on the head: It all depends on what you're trying to do. So, what are you trying to do?
