| Derlwyn06-09-04, 03:29 AM | Hey All, I just finished reading that Hulking Hurler build that resulted in a character being able to inflict millions of points of damage in one attack. It got me thinking, though generating that much damage is just plain sick, you probably would never even hit an opponent. Insane damage is cool, but it doesn't help to be able to do oodles of damage if you can't hit. So......... What is the best possible build that would give you the highest attack bonus? Using classes, races, items, gear, spell, and whatever else from every possible book, what is the best possible build that gives you the highest attack bonus? I was thinking it would be neat if people could do it in 5 level progressions, ie. what is the best build for a 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th level character, but hey whatever works eh! This, much like the Hulking Hurler build, is an exercise in plain old fashioned fun and amusement, with perhaps just enough realism to make a semi-playable character. So have at it! Who's got the goods?!? |

| Derlwyn06-09-04, 01:45 PM | Well, in all fairness the Hurler was throwing something so large that he could've dropped it on himself and still have hit an opponent. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bad mouthing the Hurler's ability to attack. It just got me thinking about what good is creating a character with awesome levels of damage when it has a relatively low attack bonus. So I thought it would be interesting to see how high of an attack bonus a character could possibly have. I don't think anyone on that Hurler thread actually worked out his attack bonus. Not that it really matters in the end. |
| Scandal06-09-04, 02:20 PM | Druid Level 20 in animal form can cast natures avatar + Nature's Favor + animal growth = 15 (base) + 10? (Natures Favor) + 10 (Natures Avatar) = 35 + other spells like animal growth and Bulls strength Dire bear has a base str of 31 for your base str mod.... I do not have my books in front of me but that is the best I could come up with at 20th level at the moment.. but with 2 spells at 20th you can get your to hit to 35 without a strength bonus added in.. -Scan P.S I am sure someone with books can elaberate on the above mentioned build.. ;-) |

| Scandal06-09-04, 04:15 PM | Druid lvl 5/10/15/20 without items (exception at lvl 5 would be infusions) to hit at: 5 would be +13 10 +28 15 +38 and 20 +54ish Hope that helps.. The forms used are all bears black bear at 5 (str = 19) polar bear at 10 (str = 27) Dire bear at 15 and 20 (str = 31) spells used would be lvl 5+ GMF, Nature's Favor, Bulls strength, lvl 10+ Animal Growth, lvl 20 Nature's Avatar My calculations should be correct now -scan Edit: With True strike from item or friendly mage add 20 to all of those.. |
