| Portuguese D. Ace01-31-05, 06:44 AM | hi! i was thinking about a telflammar shadowlord... is a Star Elf Rogue 6/ Teflammar Shadowlord 6/ Assassin 8 good=? because i want to "powerup" my death attack... assassins levels stack with shadowlord levels to calculate death attack DC... my stats are: 15 16 18 18 14 17 Str 15 Dex 18 Con 15 Int 20 Wis 14 Cha 15 1 rog1 2 rog2 3 rog3 4 rog4 5 rog5 6 rog6 7 rog6/Shadowlord1 8 rog6/Shadowlord2 9 rog6/Shadowlord3 10rog6/Shadowlord4 11rog6/Shadowlord5 12rog6/Shadowlord6 13rog6/Shadowlord/Assassin1 14rog6/Shadowlord/Assassin2 15rog6/Shadowlord/Assassin3 16rog6/Shadowlord/Assassin4 17rog6/Shadowlord/Assassin5 18rog6/Shadowlord/Assassin6 19rog6/Shadowlord/Assassin7 20rog6/Shadowlord/Assassin8 is this build a crap? if u can suggest me a better build or some equipment and feats.... :D :D :D OFF TOPIC i'm a n00b, i cant ind the search option... where can i find it? |
| ancalimohtar01-31-05, 08:04 AM | I don't think Telf adds to Assassin for Death attack, unless it's a house-rule. The search button is down for a few days due to technical problems. |
| ancalimohtar01-31-05, 08:08 AM | By the way, what type of character concept do you want? A sneaky little bastard who hides all the time, has lots of skills to get through traps and locks to help him get to his target(s), only slips out of the darkness to make a single attack to assassinate, and then disappears again? Or someone who is more of a tactical sneak attacker (maybe via spring attacking) who will start battles with an assassination attempt? Or would you like to just flank people all the time and use full attack actions to get more than one sneak attack a round? Basically, are you going to be dimension dooring all the time to take advantage of Shadow Pounce, or will you reserve that for special occasions? P.S. Unless you're prohibited for some reason (race, etc.) you should probably acquire the shadow-walker template. It's in the same book as shadowlord, around page 70 if I remember correctly. |

| ancalimohtar01-31-05, 08:34 AM | My bad, good call on the Death Attack. The shadowlord I'm building (or perpetually rebuilding, it seems, as new books come out) doesn't go to level 6 so I forgot about that. I do have a very nice shadowlord build, but it's a different concept from yours. It's more of a "try to get as many sneak attacks per round" with flanking build. In fact, now that I think about it, I might cut out shadowlord altogether. Hmm. |
| Anders Rasmussen01-31-05, 10:01 AM | Well, its a bit old build, and I havn't had the chance to game test it, but I think it might work out allright... Big drawback is the low SA in the beginnning, but you will have some tactical oppotunities in form of both throwing and spring attacking. Only oddness is the level of Knigh of the Middel Cirkel (defenders of the faith), but the goddies of that singel level are just too good to say no to in this build. And then the use of the Rokugan Ninja that some love and other call broke... You can use the Uneathed Arcana LA buyback if you are allowed, but it dosn't cost you that much if your not allowed (1BAB; 1SA; +1 dodge and d8 hitdie). Level Class Misc. Feats Human, Shadow-walker template 1 Ninja1: 1SA BF: Dodge+1; MF: TWF; Quick Draw 2 Ninja2: Poison use 3 Ftr1: BF: Mobility; Flick of the Wrist 4 Ftr2: BF: Spring Atk 5 Ninja3: 2SA; Dodge+2 6 Ninja4: Int to Inv; Point Blank Shot 7 KnightoftheMiddle1: Com.Sens+2 BF: Blindfight 8 Tlf. Shadowlord1: Shadowsight;ShadowJump 9 TS2 : Shadowblur; Far Shot 10 TS3 : Shadow Walk 11 TS4 : Shadow pounce 12 TS5 : Shadow discorporation; WF(Kuri) 13 Inv. Blade1:3SA; int to AC 14 Inv. Blade2:Bleeding wound 15 Inv. Blade3:4SA;Faint as move; Imp. TWF 16 Inv. Blade4:Faint mastery 17 Inv. Blade5:5SA; Faint as free act. 18 Ninja5: 6SA; Dodge+3; Quicken SLA: DD 19 Ninja6: 20 Ninja7: 7SA; Dodge+4 Ends up with: BAB18 Tlf Shadow Lord casting level 5. 7 SA Options for both throwing and spring attacking. Some sneakyness, but no rouge levels (no trapfinding). And no Death Attack since I really dont think it is worth it. Plan old coolness from the Shadow Lord, worth it all I say... Anders |
| Blade271801-31-05, 10:40 AM | You might want to switch to Sun Elf, as it replaces the standard elf Dex bonus with an Int bonus, which is good for your Death Attack. |
| Portuguese D. Ace01-31-05, 11:05 AM | ahahah i did a mistake... it was a sun elf non a star elf... look my stats... int 20 = sun elf XD damned star elf... always in my mind! |
| Portuguese D. Ace01-31-05, 02:54 PM | c'mon guys, i KNOW you can help me!!! just suggest some build... feats.. anything!!! |
| thelveres02-01-05, 03:12 AM | i posted my tested in campaign build 2 in a post clost to this one called: teflammar shadowlord optimization, check it out and tell me what u think. |
| Aramil Liadon02-01-05, 04:50 AM | I would take at least a level in shadow dancer because you get hide in plain side.....which is THE coolest ability for this kind of char IMHO Aramil |
| Qaetar02-01-05, 09:17 AM | Since you intend on taking Assassin anyone, might you consider going Rogue 5/Assassin 7/Telf. Shadowlord 8 since then you save yourself the Shadowwalker LA. You are, however, reduced in your D.D. abilities. Alternatively, I believe Warlock has access to the D.D. ability at level 6, which may do you better. (Qaetar) |
| Gorgoth The Dark02-01-05, 12:47 PM | At 8th level the Assassin gets Hide In Plain Sight! Where are the level for shadowlord beyond 6??? I'm building the same type of thing but later I want to go into Black Flame Zealot for my Epic levels. Q Kukri is a martial weapon in 3.5. do you still have to take exotic weapon : kukri for the black flame zealot. Look at this build. Alot of people are playing this Rogue3 or RokuganNinja3/Swashbuckler3/Assassin8/Shadowlord6. very strong against anything with a low fort save. |
| PhaedrusXY02-01-05, 01:58 PM | http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=3034558&postcount=29 I'd change it to Rokugan Ninja1/Rogue2, though. |
