| Bommelnator05-12-05, 07:38 AM | what is the best build you can get with the following characterbuild rules: up to 4 lvladjustment for free gestalt characters allowed (even prestige classes like mystic theurge, arcane trickster or spellsword) 47 pts pointbuy 12000 startinggold 5 LVLS (or hitdice) characters should be able to walk around in a normal human city without beeing attacked immediately, and they should be able to communicate with humans. i don't know yet if our DM went crazy or not, giving us such characterbuild options, but i guess our quest will get very hard. (from what i can guess we are going to wage war on a whole kingdom of whatever race, maybe even bloodwar...). |
| EldritchEvos05-12-05, 07:52 AM | I would suggest for at least a war hulk if it is that hard.. Half ogre Half Dragon perhaps? Rogue would probably be a Paragon with a Shadow Elemental thrown in.. Cleric go saint..maybe with VoP ....and I don't know who else you would need... :D |
| OnCider05-13-05, 04:04 AM | If interested in a rogue build I would recommend Pixie for race - +4 LA and permanant invisibility. Perhaps a Rogue/Sorceror build going Arcane Trickster if that is allowed. |
| Zathyr05-13-05, 09:22 AM | Half-Celestial/Half-Fiend are +4 la's as well. Could be an interesting time to try one. Actually, there's some feat in Complete Adventurer I think that lets you be a lawful bard and stacks certain things with Bard and Paladin class. You'd have to float it by your GM to see how he'd handle it in a gestalt game, but in general a bard/paladin has some definate potential. Work towards Sublime Chord on one side, pick up some of the paladin goodies and whatever martial classes/PrC's you like on the other - decent tank, great saves, arcane casting, light armor (or heavier, with the right stuff), nice skills, bardic music, ... |
| Cunning Gnome05-13-05, 12:21 PM | Red dragon spawn from dragon lance its better than half dragon and you get a sorcerer level for each of your level adj levels. The shadow template from LoM is good for +2. :) |
| DisposableHero_05-13-05, 12:43 PM | Zathyr: the feat you're speaking of is Devoted Performer, and its designed almost such that you have to take a planned alignment shift to qualify for it. But if you DM will sign off on it than I recommend a Human/Half-Celestial Paladin5/Bard5 with devoted performer, power attack and snowflake war dance, taking Divine Might as you feat at level 6. This will (assuming you use a one handed slashing weapon) allow you to add your charisma to hit twice and to damage once, which should make full power attacks standard fare, if you come across really strong foes, you can smite them for your charisma mod to hit (again) and +10 damage |
| Joachim05-14-05, 02:22 AM | I have never built a gestalt, so forgive this attempt: Mineralized Warrior Goliath Half Gold Dragon (Barb 2/Ftr 2)/Cleric 4. +14 STR,-2 DEX, +8 CON, -2 WIS. +7 Natural Armor. DR 10/adamantine (see below). Powerful Build. Use the Whirling Frenzy from UA. Good BAB. Good Will and Fort Saves. d12 or d10 hps. Breath weapon, too. STR 18+14 (32) [36 when raging] - 16 pts DEX 14-2 (12) - 6 pts CON 16+8 (24) - 10 pts INT 11 - 3 pts WIS 14 - 6 pts CHA 14 - 6 pts Barb 1/Cleric 1 (Extra Rage) 3 Rages per day, Fast Movement Barb 2/Cleric 2 Uncanny Dodge (Barb 2/Ftr 2)/Cleric 3 (Power Attack, Thick-Skinned) (Barb 2/Ftr 2)/Cleric 4 (Cleave) Saves (Base, without magic items): F 4+7=11 R 1+1= 2 W 4+2 = 6 Attack (Base, not considering magic items: Normal: +15 to hit, 3d6 (Large greatsword)+16 damage (average 26.5 pts per hit, no Power Attack) Raging (3 times per day): +15/+15 3d6+19 damage (average 29.5 pts per hit, no Power Attack) HPs: 12+6+6+5+28 = 57 (with DR 10/adamantine) AC: 10+1(dex)+5(breastplate)+7(natural) = 23 base (not including any magic) Cleric abilities could vary significantly upon deity/domain. Ok...that's all I could come up with in 10 minutes of thinking while drunk. Thank you, good night. |
