best bulid for a devish? [Archive] - Wizards Community

do you think the weapon specialization is worth it?
obviously he will be dual wielding two scimitars.

any suggestion?

05-01-04, 12:23 AM You have to ask yourself if an extra +2 to damage is worth two more levels of fighter. Since you will be going the TWF route the extra damage looks nice, but... I assume swb = Swashbuckler. If so then you will be getting STR and INT to damage, along with the bonus that Dervish gets from the Dervish Dance, so I don't think Weapon Spec. is worth it. Plus the 3rd level of fighter is largely a wasted level.

IMHO, you could/should either pick up two levels of Barbarian for the Uncanny Dodge and extra movement (besides Rage would be a good backup in case you run out of Dervish Dance uses for the day), or two levels of Ranger for the skill points and TWF, or two more levels of Rogue for the extra skill points, sneak attack, and Uncanny Dodge. It just depends on what vision you have for your overall character concept. Personally though I would not go Fighter 4 just for Weapon Spec.

P.S. I am considering a Dervish for my next character, which I have to make soon due to a TPK. :( I thought of using two levels of Physic Warrior for the feats Speed of Thought and Up the Walls. Would be cool as heck but I am loath to bring a psionic character into the campaign, but it is another option to consider.
