What do you think the most frequently requested characters are?
Also what do you think the best characters ever made on this board are?

The builds I see requested all the time are:
1) Mounted Halfling
2) Wizard (relatively recent)
3) Summoner
4) Gish

The best builds Ever I would say:
1) Druid 20
2) Artificer 20
3) Some spiked chain build
4) Cleric archer (mostly Nerfed)

From my observations, the most requested:
Fochlucan Lyrist - seems to crop up every day
Druid / Master of Many Forms - does nobody read the MoMF bible before posting?
Gish - everybody wants a wizard who can fight

And the best:
Dweomercheater of Mystra - I don't think there is anything this cannot do
Blastificer - a core class that can rival the Hurler for damage? :O
The H.I.V.E. - anything that gives spells as a 300th+ level Sorcerer has to figure in here somewhere

Add most requested:
Telflammar Shadowlord, Frenzied Berzerker.

Add best build:
The Lancer (Nice build from 1st to 20th, with a nice damage output)
The Assassin/Fatespinner (A great killer, that can "spin" his opponents save for an extra +10 DC!!!)

Just thought they should be included.

Actually, I think the Blastificer is one of the weaker Artificer builds--it trades practical versatility for the ability to rack up gratuitously huge numbers in one category.

Still very powerful, but nowhere near as powerful as the Artificer who substitutes Extend and Persistent for Energy Admixture and Split Ray.

Can you give me a link?I'm not sure which one they were talking about. Here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=367957) is the first one I remember seeing. And here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=367957) is the monstrosity that it spawned. I think Otto the Bugbear may have made an even crazier one after that, but I missed it.

Most requested: Clerics, and (dwarven) tanks lately, it seems to me. And always Gishes.

Overall best: I'd have to say that one of my favorite builds to ever see on this board was the Stalker of Evil (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=140595). The Boogeyman (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=313633) is up there too, just for overall evil creepiness. I'd like to see them throw down Celebrity Death Match style! :D

Yeah, that was the UberER charger thread, but that was just a theorectical exercise. Damage was through the roof at 34000+, and used every charging trick I could pack in there, but it's not really playable as a character. I think the lancer threads you linked to are more helpful for actual characters than the UberER charger.

Cheers

Otto :)

Another vote for Artificer 20. Craft contingent spell and craft construct are both very nice feats that can be used with most bufficer builds to add a bit more versatility

I'll agree on best being druid20, cleric20, artificer20, and any variants of cleric using PrCs.

Finalized Lancer (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=5436939), from the guy who was compiling it all. It's on page 4 for the lazy. There are better ones, but this is the benchmark (and it needs revising... Leap Attack has errata, and I forgot a prerequisite for an optional feat, so I'd change the mounted ones up altogether). I also really like the Eberron kalashtar flavoring it may have.

Most powerful, IMHO? Druid, artificer, cleric, in that order, under normal play circumstances. Artificer rises to first with uncontrolled allowances of item creation guidelines (treat them as rules).

Most fun? I have a lot of fun with warlock 20 and pretty much any psionic character, single-classed (the most multiclass I'd go is with a PrC that lost only one ML (constructor 9 (though 10 is sometimes worth it! That indecision is balance, right there), sangehirn, meditant) or granted gobsmacking abilities (Psychic Weapon Master)). I actually DM a gestalt warforged soulknife/warlock, and it works out beautifully. He's the team's commando-style warrior and battlefield control supplementor. With a wand of an appropriate spell in a wand bracer, he acts as everyone's action bank of a sort (as in, he'll set up Chilling Tentacles on his action so the wizard can push the enemies into it using one instead of two actions, or he'll heal with a wand while the cleric buffs, or he'll provide support fire and flanking for the other characters, and so on).

Most Damage as a DM-Approvable Build?
Chargin' Rider (a Fighter//Barb//Runescarred Berzerker//Frenzied Berzerker)

~2100 Dam on a Crit

Wizard... well to kill someone on sight _is_ heavy...
Sorcerer to do this one level after the wiz is _still_ heavy....

My Favorites:
Persistent Cleric *uahahaha*
Trippin' Fighter
Pun-Pun (MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)
Amphetryon

The build I see requested most often on these boards is either a Gish variant or a Bard helper, either SChord or FLyricist.

My pick for best build isn't the most powerful (H.I.V.E), most infamous (Hulking Hurler), or the best caster (Cheater of Mystra). My choice for 'best' is based on 'the most optimized build that I 1) would like to play and 2) cannot see a DM smacking with a nerfbat.' For that, I pick Slade Cazier's build of Paladin3/Cleric2/BoneKnight10/SacredExorcist5.

while the cheater of mystra is a base i would suggest to link the twice betrayer of shar (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=478716)

it uses the cheater-concept, but is far more developed in means of spell-selection, tactics and stuff.
and beside of this it's not from me, probably better for a thread from stembolt *scnr*

Lets be clear funny. The thread is better, but not because you didn't post it. You get all the props for inventing one broken build (meager though they may be). But because you came up with the cheater does not in any way make what you otherwise say "good." It is either good or it isn't, on its own merit.
