| titanhoss04-05-05, 12:10 PM | I'm putting together a Tiefling Warlock (8th level character replacement) and for his starting equipment am thinking of the following: Bracers of Striking (with Spellblade weapon ability, different one on each bracer) +1 Cold Iron Dagger (with Spellblade) +1 Silver Dagger (with Spellblade) The big question is, with all of the spells out there, what ones would be some of the best choices to be able to absorb/redirect. | Sang-Drax04-05-05, 01:10 PM | Disintegrate is quite good, as your fort save sucks... Enervation is a good choice as well. |
| Tweedledope04-05-05, 02:11 PM | Spellblade is from...? |
| Boo04-05-05, 02:30 PM | Well Greater Dispel Magic and Enervation should definately be there. May some sort of instant death spells like destruction or finger of death could be useful too. |
| titanhoss04-05-05, 06:10 PM | Spellblade is A +1 WEAPON ability from Magic of Faerun |
| MorandirNailo04-05-05, 06:57 PM | IIRC, it got updated in PGtF...it's no longer a +1 ability, it just has a flat cost, which means you can put it on a weapon as often as you can afford. Very nice. Mor |
| Teltharis04-05-05, 08:50 PM | kinda off topic, but aren't tieflings a bad choice for warlock(charisma negative and all) Sure they have a dex and int increase but I don't think its worth the LA. |
| webgear6804-05-05, 08:58 PM | the best are dispel, greater dispel and dsyjunction. forget the fort save spells go with deathward or soulfire armor enhancements for that and get a ring of evasion for reflex saves, not sure on the will power saves but avoiding dispel and greater dispel can keep everyones buffing spells up and keep the fight going during a hard fought battle. |
| ck2001wendt04-05-05, 10:09 PM | First off, "the spell must be one that targets the wielder," no Effects or Area spells, so Disintegrate is out (better to use Rings of Counterspell). Second, there's nothing stopping you from getting multiple Spellblades on the same weapon. I use a Claw Bracer with Dispel, Greater Dispel, Reaving Dispel, and Feeblemind for a Wizard I'm playing. |
| Sang-Drax04-05-05, 10:21 PM | First off, "the spell must be one that targets the wielder," no Effects or Area spells, so Disintegrate is out (better to use Rings of Counterspell). Is "ray" qualified as an Effect? That sucks. |
| Fwib08-03-06, 02:33 PM | re: rays. I would say that unless your GM is annoying, rays would be ok, since they target you. So... enervation, disintegrate, [targeted] (greater|reaving) dispel magic... What else? |
