I just learned these two spells and am wondering what all of you like to throw down when the time comes. For offense I was thinking that if you had 4 Scorching Rays in a Sequencer, you could fire all 4 spells at once as a quickened spell (OUCH!). Then after that see what's still standing to use your normal action to cast a clean up spell. What offensive & defensive combos do you use regularly for both the 5th Matrix and 7th Sequencer?

Nice try on the Scorching Ray thing, but you only get one quickened spell per round.

My personal favorite with the Spell Matrix was always True Strike. This way, I always had a quickened True Strike on hand to pop off before any ranged touch spell (especially Disintegrates and Enervations). My character happened to have a -2 dex mod, so this really helped out.

Other candidates are: Magic Missile (of course), Scorching Ray (for that extra bit of damage).

Melf's Acid Arrow for disrupting spellcasters, Dimension Door is always nice to get away from heated situations.

If I'm not mistaken you can let loose ALL 2nd level and under spells as ONE free action with Simbul's Spell Sequencer (7th level). So in theory that could be 4d6 x3 and then x 4, so it would come down to
12 ranged touch attacks, assuming you hit with all of them: 12 x 4d6 = 122 average fire damgae (50%). Throw on a Energy change feat and you've got yourself one very nasty six gun (well four really) that only has to worry about spell resistance.

Actually, there is a tricky thing about Dimension Door when you try to put it in a Contigency/Matrix/Sequencer. You have to give the place where you will arrive beforehand, so it would be a bit dangerous (unless ofcourse you got a high wisdom score...).

My bad! I was only thinking of the Spell Matrix!

That linking thing is neat.
