Best demon slaying Prc. [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-05-05, 08:37 AM What's the best prestige class for a demon slayer. I am thinking Knight of the Chalice, but not sure if there is a better one that I may have missed or wouldn't normally think of.

12-05-05, 09:12 AM Foe hunter isn't too bad, assuming you have FE: demons, evil, evil outsiders...

Fist of Raziel would do a lot of smite damage to one, as well as, say, paladin 20 with a sudden stunning lance.
-Actually, almost anything in the BoED would probably be good against demons.

There was a PrC is a Dragon years ago...I don't recall the name. It was in the same one as the faction PrCs for Sigil. Anyway, it had an amazing 10th level capstone. Touch attack to make all of an outsider's supernatural and spell-like abilities nonfunctional for a day. No save or SR. In other words, it could make killing a god that much easier.

A ranger 20 could have FE ([evil] outsiders) 10 and ([chaotic] outsiders) 8. +18 ain't bad, especially if you pick up some of those feats from Dragon which add it to AC and so forth. With a Hunter's weapon, you're going to be dealing +36 damage per attack.

Favored Enemy uses the higher of the two qualifying types - they do not stack as you suggest. The only exception is Favored Enemy (Evil) which is causing some issues of its own around here.

12-06-05, 03:28 PM A straight caster is probably strongest, as usual, so sacred exorcist is a good choice. Second would be gish-builds of various kinds, and third favored enemy (evil outsider) builds.
