Best Dire ANimal for Primeval? [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-18-05, 09:54 AM Dire Ape is probably the "best" if you are allowed to use weapons while in that form.

Dire Lion grants a good Str bonus.

Dire Panther is a bit more blanced with a good dex while still granting str.

Dire Hawk is interesting if you are outdoors a lot. Very impressive mobility.

11-18-05, 12:34 PM Do you want overall utility? pouncing? grappling? Different forms suit different needs. I personally like to go with a Dire Lion and focus on grappling.

Druid5/Ninja2/DaggerspellShaper X/Primeval Y/Warshaper Z
Use your druid spells and Warshaper to buff up, then go to town with Savage Grapple.

11-18-05, 12:36 PM I will second Dire Ape as the best form due to weapon use and a Climb movement rate. I think megaraptor beats out Dire Lion in terms of raw power, however, now that it has been changed in errata to large.

Megaraptor is no longer Huge. It was changed to large in errata.

I think that Druid 6/ Nature's Warrior 4 is the best entry to Primeval.

11-18-05, 03:19 PM I like big cats due to pounce. Feats like powerlunge (S&F), leap attack(CV), shock trooper (CW) & a necklace of natural attacks with the valourus enhancement all make charging a great option.

The Megaraptor also has Pounce but has more attacks with it's full attacks action.
