I am attempting to create an Archivist and I was wondering which spells you guys think are the most useful divine spells. For those that don't know what an Archivist is please go here (http://wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20051007a&page=3).

If you do post to this thread may I ask you to please post the spells level and its location.

Thanks tons. :cloud9:

Well, let's see. Off the top of my head:

Level 1: Mage Armor, Identify, Silent Image, Charm Person, True Strike, Rhino's Rush

Level 2: Cat's Grace, Minor Image, Detect Thoughts, Scorching Ray, Blur, Clairaudience/Clairvoyance, Ray of Enfeeblement, Melf's Acid Arrow

Level 3: Lesser Telepathic Bond, Haste, Touch of Idiocy, Major Image, Lightning Bolt, Displacement

Level 4: Polymorph, Dominate Person, Phantasmal Killer, Otiluke's Resilient Sphere, Confusion, Illusory Wall, Fire Shield, Fireball, Leomund's Secure Shelter, Armor of Darkness, Voice of the Dragon, Enervation, Modify Memory, Dimension Door, Explosive Runes

Level 5: Rary's Telepathic Bond, Wall of Force, Holy Sword, Greater Invisibility, Mirage Arcana, Persistent Image, Passwall, Wall of Iron, Charm Monster, Permanency, Fabricate, Hallucinatory Terrain, Teleport, Evard's Black Tentacles

Level 6: Cone of Cold, Legend Lore, Cloudkill, Permanent Image, Antimagic Field, Fire Seeds, Contingency

Level 7: Forcecage, Programmed Image, Disintegrate, Chain Lightning, Greater Heroism, Limited Wish, Project Image, Sequester, Tenser's Transformation

Level 8: Improved Blink, Polar Ray, Mind Blank, Greater Teleport, Vision, Delayed Blast Fireball, Horrid Wilting, Simulacrum, Maddening Scream, Iron Body

Level 9: Time Stop, Monstrous Thrall, Weird, Imprisonment, Energy Drain, Freedom, Meteor Swarm, Elemental Swarm, Mordenkainen's Disjunction, Greater Fantastic Machine, Power Word: Kill, Wail of the Banshee, Wish, Prismatic Sphere, Foresight, Trap the Soul, Shapechange

This leaves off Druid spells, for the most part, since they're easy to figure out. Also, I'm afraid I don't have sources handy; I could look 'em up for any given spell. A large number of these come from the Shugenja spell lists; others are domain spells. Polymorph and Scorching Ray come from the Adept spell list.

Divine Favor has always been my favorite 1st level spell, but archivists arent really a melee class (not saying they cant be, they just generally leave it to their cleric friends)

Caelic, I'm mighty disappointed in you. Not mentioning Divine Power :p

I <3 Divine Power, Divine Might, and Righteous Wrath.

From Champions of Ruin, I like Arrow Split, as well as an assortment of the 'Arrow' spells from that book.

And from CV, you have Arrow Mind, Arrow Swarm, etc. =D

Basically, the Archivist was designed to be Polymorphed into an Arrow Demon and slay all who oppose him. :P

Just sayin'.

I didn't mention any cleric spells at all, and I barely mentioned any druid spell; I assumed those were givens. My list is the more obscure stuff an Archivist can get.

Most those CD spells were updated in SpC.

Righteous Wrath of the Faithful is my favorite cleric spell. It particularly shines when people TWF or have secondary attacks (such as natural attacks).

That said, Holy Star is absurdly powerful...
