Well, after reading the Optimizing the Master Transmog thread, I was wondering what monsters of 15hd or less have the best Ex abilities. The carrion crawlers paralysis comes to mind, as does Blood Drain from the gibbering mouther...

Solar & Aspect only works if you become an outsider yourself. Golem won't work b'c you can't polymorph into a construct.

Hydra - fast healing 10+# of original heads = 15-22!

Gold dragon - Water breathing (also HD, size increase with your level)

Yes... anyone know any way to become an outsider that doesn't require LA or a reigonal feat (like otherworldly)?

Please keep it up! I'd love to see outsider ablilities too, so post them too please :)

And willo-the-wisp isn't an outsider, right?

Protective slime could be useful, I suppose... (from the Babau)

Also, what book are the Aspects from? I *know* I've seen them somewhere...

Aspects of the greater fiends are from the Miniature's Handbook. I think someone was compiling a list of the best Ex abilities for shapechanges\; Kbssnowowl, I believe.

Edit - said thread is on (Su) abilities....I'm looking foe (Ex) abilities to use with the Infinite Variety class ability of Master Transmog 10.

I know of a few low-lvl non-combat (ex) abilities:
- Keeper, 4 HD Outsider, Fiend Folio: Mimic weapon, blindsight 200 ft, construct immunities, scent
- Gloura, 7 HD Fey, Underdark: DR 10/cold iron
- Lupinal, 8 HD Outsider, MM2: petrification immunity, +4 save vs poison, fear aura, improved grab, trip, dodge 3 missiles/round, scent, electricity immunity
- Temporal Drake, 10 HD Dragon, WotC-website: progressive initiative, recurrence
- Monadic Deva, 10 HD Outsider, Fiend Folio: uncanny dodge, immune to death spells/effects/drains/planar elemental traits/petrification, +4 save vs poison, immunity to acid/cold/fire/electricity

The new Yugoloths from the MM3 each have an (EX) Summon Yugoloth ability. I doubt you'd actually be able to control what you summon with it, though.

5 levels in Divine Disciple (Players Guide to Faerun) make you a native outsider. You have to be able to cast divine spells though.

WTF?

Seriously, how does that work? I mean, having an undead skull floating around by nonmagical means is bad enough, but (Ex) summoning???

Ah well, let the designers do what they want. I guess I can't argue with an (Ex) special attack that summons Yugoloth(i?) :dancin:

Hey it usually works for me, I scream and yell and generally pitch a temper tantrum and mezzoloths just come running to do whatever my whimsy says for them to do. A perk of being a greater yugoloth I guess. http://arcanofox.foxpaws.net/shemmysmile.gif
