I am entering a gestalt game and am still deciding on a character choice. I was wondering if I could get some ideas from you guys. So I am asking to see what your thoughts would be for the best Gestalt build as a level 10 Gestalt Character.

A little more information would be nice. There really is no such thing as a 'best' build, since most builds are good at one thing and not so good at another.

Also, what resources you have available to use would be helpful.

For the sake of simplicity, a Fighter 10 // Bard 10 has good BAB, all good saves, d10 HD, good skills, bardic music, combat feats, and spells.

More than likely, you will get suggestions to use Artificer or Archivist.

What kind of character are you looking to play other than 'the best'?

I've been looking at several choices so far. I have been thinking about going with a Warlock combo with something else, like a rogue or a cleric/Favored Soul, or even a Fighter. I have also been looking at Warhulk. I have recently added a Fighter/Rogue with PRC Shadowdancer who uses a Spiked chain, and a Fighter/Cleric Dwarf.

I am not necessarily looking for someone to build me a best combo though. I am going to play eventually what I think would be the most fun, but I have been more interested in what other people would do for a Gestalt character. Which is why I left if purposely vague.

BTW, I know what the Artificier is, but where is the Archivist?

Archivist is a heroes of horror class if i recall correctly. Can cast divine spells like a wizard does arcane (uses a spellbook) and can learn EVERY divine spell that exists.

And depending on your reading, every arcane as well. Certainly so if you can somehow get a domain slot.

That being siad, I'd go Archivist 10//Artificer 10. I think there are some other builds of mine somewhere, though.

EDIT: There's a link in my sig to the Batmonk and Batcaster (same post.) Take a look; if you can get Savage Species in, they're fun.

Thanks for the great reading material tsuyoshikentsu. They look great. The only question I have is as per Unearthed Arcana, getting the same benefit from two different classes when levelling up in a Gestalt game doesn't stack. IE If you are a Rogue 7 / Sorc 6, Arcane Trickster 1 your sneak attack dice from both classes don't stack. You don't get 2d6 SA by taking two different classes that both net you 1 each. So would your monk levels actually stack, or would you just be considerred to have the standard monk levels? IE Upon getting a new monk level and Shiba Protector level, would you get 1 level for monk, AND a level in Monk for Shiba Protector, or would they both only net you 1 monk level because it is the same bonus so they don't stack?

What to mix with the warlock really depends on what you are looking for. Are you going straight caster, or do you want a melee brach? As stated below, the archisist is a good choice, like the cleric, to do it both as long as you dont mind hunting for your spells.

I would have to say that an artificer maybe the best choice at that level. That is right when they come into power. Again though it depends on what you are looking for. I really like the warforged race with artificer 10/Fighter x, Warforged Juggernaut 5 (both from the ebberon book). I cannot give more details since I dont have the books at this moment, but the warforged Juggernaut basically turns you into a full construct with all the nifty immunties. It is alot of fun when you are running around with a life drinker weapon from the DMG without taking any level loss.
