| Cravin10-08-06, 11:16 PM | I have to make a level: 1st Gestalt character, the books I have available to me are as follows: I am allowed to use all of the 'Completes' (Including Psionics) All of the 'Races of' All of the 'Core' And all of the 'core suppliments' (Also, just so you know, I am allowed to use Expanded Psionics handbook as well). EDIT:Dragon Magic IS available to me. So, Now the real question, What is the best combonation, I understand that there is no 'Best' but What are your top picks, Now I'm all about flavor normally (EG; Knight/warden) But for this particular campaign I want to power play and be as 'broken' as possible. So let me know what you think is the best combonation for first level and why? Thank you |
| Phoenix0010-08-06, 11:28 PM | Druid 20 Monk 1/Cleric 19 with Divine Metamagic Cheese and the use of Natural Spell Pick a nature god. Or a slightly better version Druid 20 Monk 1/Cleric 9/Contemplative 10 with Divine Metamagic Cheese and the use of Natural Spell another favorite of mine but it doesn't mature till late levels. Wizard 7/Master Transmogrifist 10/Wizard 3// Duskblade 7/Wizard +1/Duskblade+2/Wizard +1/Duskblade+2/Wizard +1/Duskblade +2/Wizard +1/Duskblade +3 Now you can arcane channel with a full attack while keeping all your wizard casting. Take Wizard levels on Side 2 when you loose caster levels on Master Transmogrifist on Side 1. Then polymorph (shapechange at lvl 17) into a shape that allows lots of attacks. If you want after Duskblade 13 you can start take levels of warshaper since there is little benefit to continue Duskblade after lvl 13 when you have full wizard casting on the other side. |
| Cravin10-08-06, 11:33 PM | Thats cool, Those are actually really awesome, BUT I need a FIRST level gestalt character please ^^ But thank you for those Ideas. |
| Cherubaddon10-08-06, 11:39 PM | I do not know your preferences, obviously, but here are some ideas: If you are a freak-arcanist like me, a sorcerer/warlock might be awesome, especially if you can manage him to be CE. It gives you some versatility. More Blaster-like would be a Sorcerer/Wizard or, better yet (you need only one stat), a Wizard/Wu Jen. If you prefer close combat, go for Fighter/Barbarian. If you prefer stealthy characters, Bard/Rogue could be interesting. Monk also counts as a good partner for pretty much any other class. Hope it is helpful, have fun! |
| Cravin10-08-06, 11:52 PM | Well, for this particualr campaign, my preference is 'Broken' or 'breakable'. I was thinking monk/Wizard or monk/Wujen OR monk/Duskblade Pretty much monk anything is good, lol. But, I really like Wujen/Ninja as well. You see, The monk or ninja combonation with non-armoured casters gives you an AC boost and leaves my hands free (most of the time). I also really like Fighter/Psion With the Full BAB and the feats, And if i am correct, psions don't suffer any klind of 'power penalty' So fighter+mind powers I think PWNS. |
| Rass Frostwhisper10-08-06, 11:56 PM | Horrendous Gestalt. Warlock/Artificer. Don't think -you- can, but... oh lord... the seething hatred! |

It's Druid 20 with Monk 1/Cleric 19 on the other side. Start with the usual Druid stuff to get all your abilities while Wild Shaped then go over to the Cleric side and get DMM: Persistent. Abilities: Wis > Con > Cha > Int > Dex > Str |

| Phoenix0010-09-06, 12:13 AM | I repeat Druid 20// Monk 1/Cleric 19 or almost the same build, and they are identical till lvl 11 Druid 20// Monk 1/Cleric 9/Contemplative 10 Yes a barbarian 1//psychic warrior 1 (probally the best gestalt lvl 1 combination at lvl 1) will be slightly more powerful than a druid 1//monk 1, but a druid 1/monk 1 is nothing to slouch at, and it will get the job done. Eventually you will pick a strong wildshape form, and then using both your cleric and druid side to grant yourself permanent buffs. Buffs that increase your BAB to your level, and grant you sizable increases to your strength an dex. Remember any str or dex boosts apply while you are in your wildshape form. Stats are Wis > Con > Cha > Str > Dex > Int due to you starting at lvl 1. If you were starting at lvl 5 it would be Wis > Con > Cha > Int > Dex > Str since Str and Dex don't matter when you are wildshape. Oh instead of the usual cleric, go cloistered cleric variant (its avaliable at d20srd or UA). Normally you go down to d6 hps, but this isn't a problem with gestalt due to druid always have d8 hps, you net 4 additional skill points per level, a slightly better skill list, and the knowledge domain for free. If you want to combine something with wizard all you had to do was ask. |

| dominus_casuum10-09-06, 12:26 AM | Gee, I wonder how I would start a Druid 20//Monk 1/Cleric 19 build.Definitely with 3 levels of swashbuckler, 2 levels of fighter, and 10 levels of ur-priest. ;) |
| Prominence10-09-06, 12:34 AM | I'm thinking Warblade/archivist or warblade/wizard would end up just as strong. Can't wildshape but polymorph works well I hear. Actually, Warblade/Wizard is pretty sick with Abjurant Champion, Monk, Argant Savant, and the feat where monk turns into Int -> AC. Warblade 14 / Monk 6 Wizard 5 / Abjurant Champion 5 / Argant Savant 2 / Anything 8 Nothing like walking around with 34+dex+int+deflection AC using Wraithstrike for all touch attacks and 19-20 BaB. |
| X-Codes10-09-06, 12:44 AM | Stats are Wis > Con > Cha > Str > Dex > Int due to you starting at lvl 1. If you were starting at lvl 5 it would be Wis > Con > Cha > Int > Dex > Str since Str and Dex don't matter when you are wildshape. Str and Dex hardly matter before level 5 since you can hide behind your animal companion and summoned monsters pretty well until then. Just ride your wolf so you're in good position to heal him or cast Entangle or something. |

Sigh...I wish, But unfortunatley for me ToB Isn't allowed. |
| Brol_The_Mighty10-10-06, 01:36 AM | Here's one I actually played, got some good results from it. (however we don't use xp pen's for multiclassing.) Race: Dwarf Druid 20//Swash 3/Monk2/Warshaper3/Deepwarden2/MoMF7/Nature's Warrior3 My favorite forms were trolls and giants, so the Con to AC instead of Dex was great. This build made use of 2 of the 3 stats that never change while wild shaping (normally.) Be sure to pick up Natural Spell, and maybe Extend spell so you can use the Bite of spells twice as long. Will turn you into a combat monster. |
