I am very interested to see how everyone builds their halfling paladin/cavaliers, since I will be playing one at after our current campaign ends.

The only stipulation is that you must have at least a few levels of paladin. The actual cavalier prestige class is not necessary, but I definitely want a halfling that can take advantage of mounted combat indoors, outdoors, etc., combining maneuverability and the ability to do a good amount of damage.

Any ideas?

Strongheart Halfing
Paladin 6/Halfling Outrider 3/Cavalier 4/Halfling Outrider7
1 Mounted Combat, Weapon Focus (Lance)
3 Mounted Archery
6 Ride-by Attack
9 Spirited Charge
12 Celestial Mount
15 ?
18 ?

Taking Cavalier Charger might be a good option if it's Leaping Charge ability stacks with the Full mounted attack of the Outrider. Divine Might may be good as well if you have a high Cha.

The Fort saves of the paladin, Ref of the Outrider, and Will of the Cavalier all compliment each other. All levels stack in determining the Paladin's special mount, full BAB

I'd also by the Horseshoes of Flame if you get a warpony, its in Savage Species. Other more exotic mounts are always available, too, like a Blink Dog. w00t, and of course

I do like the save synergy in that build. I'm not sure how much I could use a lance in a dungeon or indoors--would it be better to just fight with a sword? (I know the lance gets a tremendous damage bonus, though).

I have a 32-point stat buy. How should that be distributed for such a character?

What would be my best choice for a mount? I like the blink dog idea at later levels...

Btw, thanks allenchan!

I'd definitely try to use a lance as much as possible, but keep a back-up weapon handy.

Blink Dog would be a great mount, except that it's Dimension Door ability explicitly effects only itself. Is there some ruling making an exception for Blink Dogs that serve as mounts or companions?

No, but if the halfing has a ring of blinking, they can blink in unision (so says the Arms and Equipment book). Also, since the halfing outrider gives you abilties to leap off your mount and attack, you can have it dimension door behind the person to create immidiate flanking.
