| TheMrBlack03-21-05, 11:13 AM | I'm looking for a halfling rogue build, something that would fit well with Eberron's halflings. My first idea was a combination Halfling Rogue/Druid... but I couldnt think of any decent progression for this.... then I thought Halfling rogue/ Ranger, but we already have a ranger in the group. I definately want the rogue part in there, that's essential, but I want to combine it with something wild. Not barbarian though, since we have one of those as well.... And no arcane casting... hmm ok Classes I want to avoid are Monk, Wizard, Sorceror, Barbarian, and Bard... that leaves combos with Psions, alternate classes from the complete books, ranger, druid, etc... Anyone have a good scout/druid build? that tosses a lil rogue in there? Help =) |

I need someone that can detect traps though, and disarm them and open locks, aka staple rogue skills.... but I'd like it to be more out doorsie... |

You get a lot of teh same skills as a rogue (but not as many) but the main benefit is you get your most important stat (wis) to AC as well. |

It's a divine variant of Arcane Trickster and it gives full Sneak Attack, Spells, and a few other nifty items. Gnomes are neat in Eberron what their their nation and the Korranberg Cronicle and such. Eberron gnomes are also very secretive and spy-like so it fits in beautifully. A Rogue/Psion goes nicely into Elocator, all from XPH. The PrC deals with movement, dimension door, improved flanking and haste. It's a very potent class with a lot of powerful abilities. A little weirder is a Paladin/Rogue combo. Complete Adventurer makes this combo neat with feats that combine Smite Evil and Sneak Attack. There is also an Inquisitor PrC that meshes both very well. If you are going to be a spellcasting rogue then be sure to take Razing Strike as a feat. You will burn spell slots to increase Sneak Attack damage that effect Undead. Sadly though, none of my suggestions are out-doorsy. :( |
| Helmed Horror03-21-05, 01:27 PM | halfling rogue 5/Assasin 5/Invisible Blade 5/ Thief Acrobat 5 Better yet, but not halfling... goblin rogue 5/Stonedeath assasin 5/Assassin 5/Invisible Blade 5 |
| Kolakuba03-21-05, 04:49 PM | Urban wildshaping martial ranger 5/ Fighter 2/ Master of Many Forms 8/ Warshaper 5 |
| Isthramir03-21-05, 06:37 PM | Never underestimate the Rogue 16/Full BAB 4 build. Rogue levels are pretty damn good for a skill monkey. |
| tafkamhokie03-21-05, 09:49 PM | Rogue is definitely one of the core classes where progressing without any PrC's is underrated. The rogue special abilities that you pick up starting at level 10 are pretty darned good. I am particularly fond of crippling strike (which does 2 points of temporary strength damage on every sneak attack). Using either a TWF build or a Rapid Shot build (or both if you want to throw darts or daggers), you should be able to get 3-4 attacks per round...maybe even five. That is a bunch of strength damage to pile on top of your sneak attack damage. |
