| Sareld10-29-06, 01:39 PM | I am getting a level 10 cohort at my next session, and I am considering to get a druid of some sort. Im considering two builds, but as I have no expirience with druids I need your oppinion on the two builds Im considering: 1) Druid 9 / Wizard 1 This guy is an elf, and he will have the 'Practiced Spellcaster' feat from complete arcane. The bug plan with this guy is to have him cast spells like Mage Armor, Shield, Spider Climb and Expidious Retreat while in his elven form, and use the bonus granted from those spells to maximum effect when he is in his wildshape form. 2) Fighter 4 / Druid 6 This guys will be a human in order to avoid XP penalties. IŽll be getting Weapon Focus: bite, Weapon Focus: claws and power attack for him in order to maximize his CC abilities. |

| Tempest Stormwind10-29-06, 02:05 PM | Druid 10. Doesn't even need to be human (I'd suggest Gnome, myself; high Con is good, the strength penalty is meaningless past level 5, and the small size is worth it for defensiveness if you're out of Wild Shape. Plus, gnomes have a connection to the earth around them in ways other core races don't, so the fluff fits.). Assuming Core-only: Feats: 1) Spell Focus: Conjuration 3) Augment Summoning 6) Natural Spell 9) What, you want MORE power? If you're desperate, go for Extend Spell. Be advised that a druid cohort may actually be far, far stronger than the player he's attached to. |
| Sareld10-29-06, 02:24 PM | I should inform you that we use the 3.0 core books. Ive never heard about the Narural Spell feat before, though I can imagine what it does. I recon that a druid 10 would probably be the most powerful build, but I rather want at least one non-druid level in him to unique than just making yet ANOTHER pure druid clone. And yes, I am aware that he will probably be stronger than my main character.. but that is the point. My main character is weak as **** (bard 7 / Outlaw of the Crimson Road 4 / Dungeon Delver 1, all PrCs from Song and Silence), but fun to play.. my cohort is amongst other things supposed to give the party some of the edge they lack because of me. |

| ShubNiggurath10-29-06, 04:02 PM | monk 1/druid x is very strong too. |
| Hanniball10-29-06, 04:05 PM | Uberling's Druid Handbook (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=165279) has some excellent 3.0 suggestions. It's too bad the oldschool Shifter bible got lost... |
