Best monk build? [Archive] - Wizards Community

first post :) Sorry for beign a newbe.... but, please, could you tell which is the best build for monk with the highest AC and attack bonus?

01-02-07, 10:35 AM A halfing monk with dodge as his first feat would have a pretty decent AC. If he takes weapon finesse at 3rd level, he'd then have a fairly good attack bonus, bu his damage output would be low.

Anthropomorphic bat: High wis and fly. (SS)
Intuitive strike: Wis in place of strength for 'to hit' rolls. (BoED)
Saint: Wis to AC again, other goodies. (BoED)
Fly-by-attack: Better than spring attack. (MM)
Ability focus: For your stunning fist (MM)
Paralysing strike: Better than stunning fist (CW)

Anything else you can think of to pump up your wis and stunning fist, including the majority of your gp's. Carry a scythe for offing paralysed eneamies.

An alternative way to go is to get vow of poverty (which totally sheilds your mind and alignment from reading) , max your 'proffession massuese', and be an assasin.

Some of the best monk stuff that I haven't mentioned here though is third party.

01-02-07, 02:14 PM Monk 6/Ur Priest 2/Sacred Fist 10/X 2

(or Monk 6/Ur Priest 2/X 2/Sacred Fist 10 because of the SF Multiclass code of Conduct if you want to go into epic)

9th lvl Divine Spells, full Monk Damage with Superior Unarmed Strike from TOB or a Monk's Belt. Can get an extra attack with flurry at only a -1 penalty.

Combined with good buffing spells and Divine Metamagic Persist

01-02-07, 02:26 PM Oh with the above build if you have Dragon 304, doing an adaptation of Serenity combined with two lvls of Paladin of Tyranny (the X 2) will have your Divine Grace, Smite, Deadly Touch, and your Rebuke Undead work all on Wisdom instead of Charisma.
