Best PrC(s) for the Lurk... [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-05-06, 07:21 PM Just wondering what PrCs you feel suit the Lurk best...?
...and at what point you'd halt your progression in the Lurk class to pick them up? :)

10-05-06, 08:10 PM Well it depends on what direction you wanna take the lurk. IMO I think Ebon Saint (In the same book) is a really cool class for it. The xtra sneak attack and gaining 4 ML in the process, along with the pretty flavorble abilities make that PrC quite cool. If fighting is more of your sport, I say just dip in some fighter, get craven and go down the TWF feat tree and go Lurk from there. You could pile up some awesome dmg and some sweet powers as well. Practiced Manifester is also your friend if you plan on dipping into 4 lvls of fighter for feats. This all may seem generic but it's how I'd play the lurk. There hasn't been much to synergize well with the lurk yet since the lurk is a pretty involving base class. So yea, hope that helps

10-05-06, 10:29 PM Not a big fan of Ebon Saint -- way too specialized unless your entire campaign is built around infiltration.

I'd say Psychic Assassin from Mind's Eye: Lurk12/PsyAsn8 gets +15 BAB, +6d6 sneak, 6th level powers, hide in plain sight, Mind Cripple + the Int-damaging Lurk ability yields about 10 points of Int. damage — instant kill for many monsters. Good Int. synergy with powers + Initiative + death attack. Assassin Skills get you the key roguish skills Lurks lack.

EDIT: And I'd probably pick up the PrC after 6th level, and alternate to keep the lurk augments going.
