| Tenken09-30-04, 10:38 AM | What's the best way of protecting one's weapon from sunder or magical things that can destroy your weapon? |
| BetaFlame09-30-04, 10:43 AM | Get an Aurourm (spelling?) Weapon from the BoED. They "regenerate" if broken Or use a monk, and go unarmed. Monks cant get sundered. |
| Tenken09-30-04, 10:54 AM | Get an Aurourm (spelling?) Weapon from the BoED. They "regenerate" if broken Awesome, thanks! Is there anything that can destroy it permanently by any chance? I just don't wanna lose my weapon :D |
| Blade271809-30-04, 11:05 AM | Probably disintegrate. But c'mon; that destroys EVERYTHING. |
| BetaFlame09-30-04, 12:48 PM | I imagine if something ate it, it might be lost? Boy. If not. Other end. Ow. |
| scrollreader09-30-04, 12:58 PM | While the above poster are sort of right, in that the special metal lets you put a weapon back together, it doesn't actually keep it from being sundered. For that, your best bet is probably a dwarvencraft Obduranium +5 weapon, with a permanant harderning cast on it. The Dwarf Artificer in my party is working on building a heav mace like this. More as a point of honor than anything, but ... damn. How the hell am I supposed to sunder that? :P |
| Scandal09-30-04, 01:10 PM | Well if it is a mace sunder it at the halft not on the ball ;) -Scan |
| BetaFlame09-30-04, 02:06 PM | Well. Aurorum is PRETTY! And maces have a metal haft, if I remember my weapon studies right. Morning Stars are wooden hafted. Where is "Obduranium"? |
| scrollreader10-01-04, 01:04 AM | Stronghold builder's Guide. It gets double the hardness and HP of adamantine. The SBG also has the 3.0 Hardening spell, the 3.5 version is in Eberron. |
| catharz10-01-04, 01:24 AM | An Aurorum +1 Metaline mace turned into "Obduranium" or whatever. If it does break, you can just scoop it back together. |
| frisbeet10-01-04, 09:57 AM | Try sundering before being sundered. Not every opponent is going to be very capable of sundering. Natural weapons and sundering aren't correlated, in my experience. It's often the BBEG who looks very much like you wielding something covetous. Don't covet his weapon; destroy it. He probably thinks the same of your Vorpal glow-in-the-dark stick. |
