best race for artificer?(please help) [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-26-05, 12:25 PM My dm has let us have a +2 level adjustment to use on a race for my artificer, i can use templates and monsterus races or anything i would like as long as i use +2 level adjustment ... the other people are going drow warforged and such

we are playing in the forgoten realms but any and all books are allowed just no dragon mag

so what do the experts think

09-26-05, 12:42 PM I'll chirp in with the obvious Warforged. If you have Races of Eberron, all the better, as their racial substitution levels are pretty awesome.

If you're a Warforged, you can heal yourself, give *yourself* all the Artificer buffs, and, best of all in my opinion, build magic items into your own body. Seriously, that rocks. How'd you like to never be disarmed again?

09-26-05, 06:01 PM where is phrenic from it sounds nice and as for the warforged i would rather not use a warforged sence everyone else is doing that

and ya he banned dragon mag otherwise it would be just realy unbalancing...like its not going to be anyways

Phrenic is from the E. psi. handbook (or the SRD here

09-29-05, 01:09 AM If you're going Artificer, go Human Half-Fey: +4 Charisma is beastly, you get some spell-likes, flight 60, other stat boosts, and it really makes Nymph's Kiss a role-play oriented feat.

Alternatively, a 0 ECL Aasimar Half-Fey, for +6 Charisma net Charisma, and the always fun outsider type.

09-29-05, 01:23 AM Just for the record, I actually don't find all the Warforged Racial Sub levels for Artificer that great. Weapon familiar is in no way equal to Retain Essence in any game I've ever played..
