| Kenkai10-27-03, 08:42 PM | i'm looking for a race with no level adjustment but a +2 to charisma. anybody know of one? |
| HammerFist10-27-03, 08:52 PM | Boy, talk about a title and the subject not really matching up! |
| goblinhero10-27-03, 09:10 PM | easy enough to answer but... wrong forum. ever hear of the Races board? |
| draegl0th10-27-03, 09:20 PM | It's kinda related to CO. Try star elves in Unapproachable East. +2Cha -2Con, otherwise same as regular elf. |

Wrong, they also have favored class: bard, if I recall correctly. Faerun yet again offers a flavor of elf for every character. |
| draegl0th10-27-03, 10:50 PM | Then it's the perfect answer to his question ;) |
| catharz10-27-03, 11:15 PM | A Spark Star elf is somewhat better, as is a Spark human. |
| draegl0th10-27-03, 11:17 PM | Or a magic-blooded Star Elf. I think he only asked for races  |
| catharz10-27-03, 11:26 PM | It is a race. Its just a race that includes what could be viewed as a humanoid-only LA+0 template. |
| draegl0th10-27-03, 11:27 PM | So Spark Star Elf is basically a templated race. |
| Kenkai10-27-03, 11:49 PM | what is a "spark" anything? lol thx for the suggestions btw :D and i did post this on the races board. now if you want me to get more on topic for the forum i have another question. whats the best progression for a bard? i'd like to be able to master all the bards charm and support powers while *maybe* gaining some better abilities? whats a good build? never played a bard before ;) |
| goblinhero10-28-03, 12:50 AM | spark is a racial template in Dragon. +0 LA. it should be a +1 LA but no matter. Mucknuggles Bard Thread (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=67002&highlight=muck) |

Mucknuggles Bard Thread (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=67002&highlight=muck) You do realize that Feral, Half-ogre, and Aasimar are all LA+1, right? Spark is even weaker then the Genasi, and is designed with *spellcasters* in mind  |
| Grim Sage10-28-03, 03:12 AM | Anyway, a Spark Star Elf basically gets you -2 Con, -2 Wis, +4 Cha, +2 to Spellcraft and Knowledge: Arcana checks and favored class: sorcerer, along with the added Star Elf qualities such as the ability to add ghost touch to any of their armor or weapons during night. should be pretty much what you're looking for; try a standard build like bard10/virtuoso10 or play around with the new prestige classes for dragon #311 and you're a pretty effective bard. |
| Kenkai10-28-03, 03:37 AM | well now i know what race i'm gonna be :O wow, and thats all with an ECL of 0. sweeeeet. thx much ^_^ i was debating between virtuoso and pure bard, i'm leaning toward the pure bard for the 2 good saves. plus bard/virtuoso is kinda redundent if you think about what a virtuoso gets at first level lol  i can't think of a class that a bardwould multiclass well with besides that and i don't have song and silence :( well anyway thx alot! what are the stats for feral and half-ogre? (out of curiousity). |
| catharz10-28-03, 04:22 AM | I can't say the specifics (copyright  ), but they involve things like +4 str, improved grab, fast healing, natural attacks, large size, and other such fun thing for only LA+1 each. |
| baoban sith10-28-03, 09:02 AM | People seem to dig the 5 level bard PrC's in Dragon. I think the most apropos would be worldspeaker and greenwhisperer (which would most likely need a level in druid), and possibly mourner. The other two, while cool, are inappropriate for a spark star elf. |
| Ithilorien10-28-03, 10:56 AM | Originally posted by catharz You do realize that Feral, Half-ogre, and Aasimar are all LA+1, right? There should not be a way to add extra abilities to your character without some form of penalty. Who wouldn't choose spark for their sorcerer? At this rate why don't we just give all players the option to choose any +2/-2 ability score combination they like and two skills with a +2 racial bonus at the beginning of character creation? It should be given a little more power and a +1 LA. |
| Vorpal Warhammer10-28-03, 11:05 AM | If this continues, we're going to have more elf types than mephit types! Although the thought of playing an Ooze Elf is somewhat intruiging... |
| cdmonish10-28-03, 11:46 AM | IIRC, the templates in that particular issue of Dragon specifically state the templates can be placed on a standard race in the Player's Handbook. For example, there can be no "wild" wild elves, "wild" orcs, etc. I know it's a 'rules lawyer' point, but I think it was designed to offset some outrages advantages when using the 'non'-standard races. |
| Kenkai10-28-03, 04:44 PM | where can i find the specifics of the half-ogre? ssavage species? |
