Best race for frenzied beserker and further help [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-03-06, 03:16 PM OK...despite me hating them, my DM really wants me to play an FB in an upcoming campaign as a way to showcase their abilities to our group (she loves the prc!).
Due to my complete disgust, i have been offered a 1LA race for free which is a really good deal.
She is not allowing custom items and i think its mainly so i can't get boots of psionic lion's charge so i was considering taking catfol to take full advanatge of shocktrooper/leap attack? Will this be my best option?

Anyway, heres the rough build, though i have no feats/skills sorted:
magic blooded catfolk barbarian6/paladin of freedom2/fighter2/FB10
Fighters in there for precious feats and paladin is there for a stronger will save through cha>saves.

I rolled the following stats 18/17/16/14/14/12 (hey big spender) and was wondering how best to distribute them? I was thinking:
str:18
dex:14+4=18
con:16
int:14-2=12
wis:12
cha:17+4=21

What feats would you suggest to my character? I was strongly considering force of personality though im not 100% sure it would be worth it...
Any other ideas/suggestions welcome.
Sources are core, XPH, complets series, races of series and feats from dragon (though nothing else, magic blooded was specially approved).

02-03-06, 03:32 PM I think goliath would be better for you. Or just warforged. Goliaths can become large size when raging, and get large sized weapons for free. Catfolk isn't bad, but catfolk pounce is another feat with a feat hungry PrC.

My favored FB's involve humans (the feat is sorely needed) and warforged (to prevent fatigue).

Mineral Warrior or Feral aren't races, but +1 templates that will really overpower your character.

I would put your 14 or 17 from int/cha into your wis. You really want to be able to make your DC20 will save to break frenzy. You probably won't need -that- many skill points. Charisma helps your Intimidating rage, but that's probably all it'll sum up to. IMO, 14 int 17 wis 12 cha. This way you stand some chance at not killing your party.

Good point on the feat thing. I'll take a thorough look at those options.

The point of the high cha is paladin of freedom 2 gives me divine grace to all saves. If i take the force of personality feat i can use cha for will saves instead of wis. With the 17 starting cha, the +4 i had from race,1 level up bonus and an eventual +6 item would result on an extra +18 on my will save which seemed pretty good to me...?
