Self-explanitory. Preferrably a race with LA+0 or natural flying capabilities.

Stats are: 18, 17, 16, 15, 13, 11. Any suggestions on placement are also appreciated.

For +0 LA flying you've basically got two choices: dragonborn something or raptorian.

And dragonborn get a Dex penalty, so...

All of this depends on the invocations you're going to get, what PrC's you might take, and more.

For example, if you're going to be using lots of invocations requiring saving throws or otherwise based off Charisma, you'll want that 18 in Charisma. Same thing if you're going into Eldrich Disciple.

Theres a lot of variables not taken into account. You should go to the Warlock Handbook to figure it all out.

I plan to take these invocations

01 Devil's Sight
02 Darkness
04 Swimming the Styx
06 Fell Flight (Or something else if I can find a decent flying race)
08 Voracious Dispelling
10 Relentless Dispelling
11 Devour Magic
13 Vitriolic Blast
15 Caustic Mire
16 Caster's Lament (This is my favorite invocation)
18 Impenetrable Barrier
20 Word of Changing

Also, if you could provide a link to the Warlock Handbook, I'd be very much appreciative.

Everything you could possibly look for on this forum is in at least one of the libraries in the the Important Threads Index. The Warlock Handbook should be in Surreal's Links.

Hmm... Well, it seems like you are perfectly able to dump charisma with minimal repercussions. I'd suggest going with a Dragonborn and fitting Eldrich Glaive into that setup.

Petal (MMIII)[Tiny Fey] +2 LA, gives -8 Str +10 Dex +4 Con +4 Int +8 Cha

With an elite array for abilty scores (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) this could give you:
Str 4 Dex 24 Con 17 Int 14 Wis 8 Cha 23. Seems ideal for a warlock.

If you are taking fell flight anyway I'd say halflings are good you get +2 racial dex and small size giving you a +2 to hit with your eldritch blasts and +1 AC for no real draw backs.

You could go with Xeph they also have the dex bonus although not the small size but they do get racial power points so you can use feats such as psionic shot.

Whisper Gnome since it seems like you won't be needing to pump your save DCs much.

It is in Races of Stone.

You could try pseudodragon, or the new race thats +2 la and precisely fitted for warlocks.

Cant remember its name, but it got +2 to all saves of supernatural effects, some resistance to spells and could never cast spells, charisma boost et la... someone else might help you out more.

You're thinking of Karsites.

IF you can get your DM to modify Anima Mage to allow for Warlocks, then an Karsite Warlock/Anima Mage would be neat. Not powerful, but neat.

Humans, as always, are attractive for the bonus feat and skill points -- warlocks get a nice skill list, but only 2SP/level makes it tough to exploit it to the fullest.

Small creatures -- halflings, gnomes, and to a lesser degree kobolds -- are attractive because Eldritch Blast damage is independent of size, but you get nice bonuses to hit and to AC (as well as other things). Whisper Gnome, as always, is a great deal, as is Strongheart Halfling.

Human, of course, is always good. :)

If your DM allows Dragon Mag stuff, check out the Unseelie Fey (I know it's in the Dragon Compendium book... not sure what actual issue it was in, off the top of my head).

+0 LA template.
Nets you: Wings, a nifty ability (your choice of "seasonal" ability), some more damage reduction (x/cold iron), and +2 Dex, +2 Cha. ...of course, there are penalties to balance it out (such as some problems with cold iron and steel, -2 Str, -2 Con...)

Actually, Kobolds are even more so since they are considered Tiny when it's advantagous for them. Thanks to Slight Build (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20060420a). +2 to AC and attacks and a hide check of dhoom? Yes please. (Note: Kobolds are still far from a powerhouse, but it makes them much more viable, especially as a spellcaster.)

Thanks guys. I was actually considering Whisper Gnome until I saw the Cha penalty, but I realize now that Cha isn't really that important.

Could someone tell me supplement the Karsites are in? Or maybe just PM the stats?

Half-fey Strongheart Halfling. +2 LA, extra feat, +4 Dex, -2 Str, -2 Con, +2 Wis, +4 Cha, tons of spell-like abilities, qualify for Mindbender via racial ability, flyby attack via wings (instead of having to take fell flight). On par with the Petal, I think, trading some ability bonuses for an extra feat.

Venerable Dragon Born Draconic Dragonwrought Kobold (Yes it's legal)

Dragonborn you're still Humanoid, Draconic can be applied to any living corporal being accept Dragon, and Dragonwrought protects you against ill aging.

+2 Con, -2 Str, +3 Int, +3 Wis, +5 Cha.

LA:+1 + 1 Character Level. Cheers!

Being small is great when all you're doing is blasting. You get +1 attack and AC. Halflings get +2 Dex, which helps even more. Gnomes get +2 Con, which allows you to get a flat 10 or a 12 for a slight bonus pretty easily. They also get bonuses to alchemy, which Warlocks can do well. Either race takes -2 Str, which doesn't really matter at all.

I like the suggestions for Kobolds, especially with that Slight Build option. Kobolds are a bit of a personal favorite.

Our DM tonight just sprang an Imp Warlock on us.

Don't worry about flight, though, you can do that at 6th level anyway, and much easier than sucking up the LA. Just wait for it. In the meantime, Spider Climb makes a decent substitute.

Strongheart Halfling is nice.

On the other hand, you have to be tiny, and still get LA +2.

Sure, you'll never miss an Eldrich Blast and rarely be hit, but you'll have a hard time carrying basic adventuring supplies, even with extra-dimensional storage (until you can get a Portable Hole, at least) help.

Of course, if you can manage the Wild Cohort (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/re/20031118a) feat, then you've got some nastiness working for you.

heh.

Any of the above races - with the Necropolitan template (Libris Mortis). This Acquired template makes you Undead; grants a D12 hit dice and null constitution score. Resist Control – +2 Profane bonus on Will saves to resist Control
Undead. +2 Turn Resistance. Unnatural Resilience – heals at the same rate as a living person does (i.e., based on level), though magical healing may be used too.

All for +0 LA. Requires the Rite of Crucimigration (3000 gp, lose a level + lose 1000 XP).

I like Necropolitan for my Ruby Knight Inquisitor, or for a necromantic Warlock, but unlike undead encounters at higher levels who have increasingly large numbers of HD for their CR, PC undead have fewer HD, and suffer more from Turn/Rebuke.

Wild Cohort, or even a riding dog, and you are all set.

Isn't there still debate over whether the Petal is a valid PC race? Cohort LA does not equate to PC LA or something like that.

Now that you mention the Necropolitan template, How many LA+0 templates are there? The Amphibious template from Strmwrack, and Necropolitan are thr only ones I can think of.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the Spellscale yet. +2 charisma, and draconic meditations to switch around every day.

Sure they don't get to fly, but isn't there an invocation that takes care of that, more or less all the time?

prototype00

Hmm, draconic meditations kinda blow for spell like abilities, probably not the best choice then. Eldritch Theurge mayhaps?

Depending on how flavorful you want to go, I'd suggest going killoran. They're fey-tacular without the LA.

Has anyone looked at getting all the fey based feats for the bonus DR and stacking that with warlock and/or one of the lock PrCs? Is it worthwhile? I haven't done the math but getting 10+DR prior to epic levels and watching it go up into epic seems pretty damn sweet....
