Best race for Warlock/Sorcerer [Archive] - Wizards Community

Preferably +0 LA, but +1 and MAYBE +2 are optional.

1) Spellscales: are really cool for Sorcerer and the Racial Substitution levels are decent.

Spellscale Sorcerer 5/Dragonheart Mage 10/Sorcerer2(7)/
Full Caster Prog 3

seems like it could be fun and kinda warlock-like in playstyle EB replaced by the Breath Weapon.

2) You really can't go wrong with Human for any build

3) Aasimar are a decent choice for an LA+1 race and that is a storyline waiting to be explained for Warlock.

From there anything that is not penalized in the area of Charisma is a decent choice.

01-31-07, 04:02 PM I'd go with a strongheart halfling. Being small doesn't even slightly hurt a warlock, only helps, and the bonus feat is eternally nice.

01-31-07, 04:06 PM White dragonspawn is a great sorcerer race...at +1 LA, but it is from Dragonlance, and are always evil...unless you can convince your DM otherwise.

I almost always go with human though.

02-01-07, 02:07 PM My Cat-folk Warlock is pretty freakin optimal. Nice bonuses to Cha and Dex. Perfecto. No negatives. +1 Natural Armor is a nice AC boost - for a level adjustment of one, it is totally worth it for a Warlock/Sorceror.

Oh, did I forget to mention base land speed of 40? Not that you'll need to run away from anything.

02-01-07, 02:44 PM The Hellbound in Fiendish Codex II is more or less a race built for Warlocks that have shunned evil. -2 CON, +2 CHA, Darkvision, Telepathy, nice immediate action +2 to saves, plus it oodles of good roleplaying...you wish to destroy all demons and can use their power against them type of thing.

I play with one as an Eld. Theurge and love it.
