Aasimar with its +2 Cha and +2 Wis is also a great choice.
Take some lvl in Paladin and get Cha Bonus to saves too.

07-28-06, 06:30 PM Anything with the dragon subtype that doesn't have LA is good, since it lets you take some of the yummy feats in Races of the Dragon (which are unfortunately dragon subtype only :raincloud )

Scroll down to the Classes section and check out the Sorcerer section there. The most important thing to remember is that you want to get out of the Sorcerer class as soon as possible -- it has the lowest hit die, no special abilites or bonus anything after first level, crap for skill points and the tiniest skill list. Any PrC with full caster progression will be better than the sorcerer class.

07-28-06, 11:39 PM With no details on books, worlds, or limitations, I put that the unbeatable LA+1 Template 'Dragonspawn' (Dragonlance Campaign Setting, pg 222) is King.
LA+1 gets you a level of spell casting, and a bunch of other stuff to boot. The only downsides?
1) Loss of BAB/HD. It is a LA Template, after all, but you knew that, right?
2) You're under the thrall of a Dragon, unless you connive a way of freedom.
