I've been itching to make a character with the new Githyanki writeup in the XPH. At first glance it looks like the Psychic Warrior would be the perfect choice but the class relies on wisdom for power points and the new writeup give the race a -2 penalty to wisdom. Frankly I don't know what they were thinking when they wrote it up. Favored class is the Fighter (yawn). How would you use the Githyanki?

Take Psychic Warrior anyway, and if using point-buy take the hit in Wisdom and compensate with other stats.

A Fighter/Ranger/Egoist/Illithid Slayer would also seem to work nicely.

This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but if you went with the Monster Manual version of the Githyanki, you could use the Githyanki's telekinesis to qualify for the Master of the Unseen Hand prestige class from Complete Warrior. It's a full BAB class as well letting you focus on your melee prowess, while using your TK for ranged attacks, tricks, combat manuevers, flight, and other purposes.

I played a Githyanki Fighter/Weapon Master/Master of the Unseen Hand character a while back that was pretty fun. I was pretty much a typical fighter with some extra stuff with my TK. I took the Quicken Spell-Like Ability feat at 18th level which allowed me to utilize my TK more often while attacking and doing other things. A favorite thing of mine was to use all of the party's non-used magical weapons and hurl them as ranged attacks. Flinging 15 greatswords at your enemies is tempting as well, if you can manage carrying them all somehow.

The build also synergizes well with a high charisma, so building on charisma based abilities, classes would work well. Iaijutsu Master, Holy Liberator, etc.

If you're interested, I'll see if I can find the build lurking around on my PC somewhere.

It has +2 Level Adjustment on top of everything else. There is just too many drawbacks IMO which sucks 'cause I love Githyanki. At one point I had thought of looking at the class as written in the Monster Manual but it slipped my mind. Isn't it a +1 Level Adjustment? I'll have to take a look when I get home.

Thanks for the advice everyone.
