I know the way the skills themselves work, but are there any ways to use certain abilities (mostly bardic) where DC's are caluclated based on partial perform or diplomacy checks? For example, Save DC's where magic AND skill are concerned?

What about PrC's that allow substitutions? Ie Dirgesinger, which allows its songs to be resisted by making DC = 10+Perform ranks instead of DC=10+1/2 Class level(bard)+Cha mod?

Looking to mazimize these abilities for the sake of both RP and mechanics. Trying to play an evil bard with little reason or want to go into physical combat.

edit--- I have read about the diplomancer, and understand what can be done with the skills individually, but mainly I am looking for ability Synergies, to make the character a little more interesting.

Read Races of Destiny. Play a half-elf bard. Take Skill Focus (diplomacy).

The Half-Elf bard gains an ability called "Soothing Voice" at first level. It duplicates the Calm Emotions spell, and the DC is equal to your Diplomacy check.

It is, in short, the most overpowered ability EVER given to a social skills character. The main weakness of Diplomacy is that it can't be used once a fight has started. With this ability, you can stop the fight and FORCE your opponents to listen to you.

Dear Lord!

I think my DM would tell me to roll a new character or find a new gaming group if I came to him with that. Sheesh!

Well, now atleast I know I am talking calm emotions, as a spell.
