It is not fun that the Ur-Priest does not get to partake in Divine Metamagic goodness. Anyone work out some of the best ways to get them some turn attempts ?

1 lvl of cleric? You can take cleric levels after you take the Ur-Priest levels.

You`re right, sorry. But what`s so wrong with Extra Turning?

Cant have any cleric levels that allow turning attempts with Ur-Priest.

If your a cleric and then forsake it for Ur-Priest you lose the turning.
If your an Ur-Priest and take Clerical levels then your Forsake the Ur-Priest levels and lose all casting.

Only way is with a PrC but in the spirit of everything i cant see a DM allowing it really. Unless its "stolen" just like the spells.

Crimson,

What Prcs give Extra turning attempts ?

More charisma equals more turning attempts. Cloak of Charisma, Armor of Command (DotF), and +5 from a tome and one ability increase would be 8 more attempts a day.

Fălenganor - perhaps i am wrong, im at work so i dont have access to my books, and the Ur-Priest i know most is the one from the BoVD, i havent REALLY read over the one in CD yet, so it might have changed, but IIRC you could never gain Divine Casting again and keep your Ur-Priest status.

Let alone that they would hunt you down and kill you. Atleast in the BoVD you had to be initiated, but this isnt by the RAW its a role play standpoint.

Actually, almost nothing changed in Ur-Priest, just a requirement feat IIRC. And Ur-Priest (IIRC) doesn`t lose divine spellcasting abilities gained after the Ur-Priest levels, which was something I doubted, but Thannin gave me a good arguement : The requirement is a one time only thing. But this just by the RAW, because few people would find a god who lets them steal power from gods (maybe a god of thieves?), and there`s the Ur-Priests organizations, they`d hunt him down.
And there`s also a good standpoint which one of my characters has, he worships not Mystra (even beeing a member from her church), but magic itself, he doesn`t see it as a god but as a natural resource that wizards control and sorcerers have naturally in themselves. Like druids worship nature.

Horned Harbinger levels. (Assuming your DM is willing to use the adaptation section for the Ur-Priest out of Complete Divine.) Gets you the Death domain and 2 Extra Turning feats by level 4 (assuming you spend your bonus feats on them.)

Is this actually true or not? I remember in 3.0 that Prcs were like feats, if you suddenly lost one of the prerequisites, you lost all abilities from that Prc. This caused many a headache with classes like the Dragon Disciple which turned into a Half-Dragon, but had a pre-req of Race: not Dragon, or something similar to that. So is that a thing of the pass? Could you have an Assassin who isn't evil by changing alignments after you take it? Does the prereqs thing only apply to the first level, or all levels?

I never knew anything about losing the PrC requirements and losing all the PrC`s abilities because of this. I`d be happy if you could point me where that is stated.
On classes like assassin stoping you from further advancing the PrC is aceptable, but losing the abilities is just stupid.

P.S. : This being true or not IIRC Ur-Priest doesn`t say anything about divine spellcasting obtained after the Ur-Priest levels, IIRC it says you have to forever forsake previously possessed divine spellcasting ability.

That's a 3.5 rule, actually. It's in Complete Warrior (I forget the exact page.)

The rule is essentially as stated. If you lose the prerequisites for a Prestige Class, you lose the abilities of that class until such time as you once again have the prerequisites.

As much as it is in the RAW - its like a Sword of True Strike, it is "possible" but it would never really be allowed.

Yep, you want to take a cleric levle afterwards, with the undeath and sun domains (worshipping the Egyptian pantheon), and then take Eye of Horus-Re which doubles your daily number of turning attempts by giving you lots of Greater Turns.
Fălenganor

From the SRD

SUN DOMAIN
Granted Power: Once per day, you can perform a greater turning against undead in place of a regular turning. The greater turning is like a normal turning except that the undead creatures that would be turned are destroyed instead.
Doesn`t say it gives you extra atempts per day, but as I couldn`t find the Undeath domain I`m not sure if it is the one that you say that doubles your turnings.

Yeah, but there is a 'bow of true strike' in MotW I think...

Which is a spell trigger item actually, albeit with unlimited charges. It probably also needs its price altered, probably to emulate a charges per day item with anywhere from 20-50 charges.

Nope; allowing an Ur-Priest to mix in Cleric levels falls more under the "No, because that would be stupid" variant of Rule 0.

Yep. Caster levels are one of the abilities granted by the PrC.

Personally, I think it makes perfect sense. If you're an Olympic gymnast, and you get in a car accident and break both legs (thereby drastically reducing your Dex,) you're not going to be able to use those gymnast abilities until you heal up (thereby regaining the prerequisite of "Ungawdly high Dex.")

I know it`s stupid, no DM would allow such thing and personally I also think it doesn`t make any sense, but works by the RAW, like many other stupid things.

That`s different. It`s something that would clearly hamper your gymnast abilities, because you won`t be able to jump, walk or use your legs, but an assassin that becomes neutral, thus losing his poison use and uncanny dodge abilities doesn`t make sense.
