best way to be or become undead [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-07-07, 05:07 PM Hi people i want to play an undead wizard but i dont like the lich template because of its +4 LA. I like the Vampire but that is +8 wich is kinda worse

any suggestions?

Of course, one method for a slightly nastier undead is to be a Kobold, aged to I believe it's adult, and take the Vampiric Dragon template from Draconomicon. It's better than the Vampire template (bye bye all those 'sunlight and die' things), and for less LA

01-08-07, 11:35 AM The Corpse and Bone Creature templates might work, also. They don't have a listed LA, but they are basically just intelligent zombies and skeletons. They are in the Book of Vile Darkness, and are created using Create Undead.
