Best way to use LA +1 [Archive] - Wizards Community

Since many people love to alter themselves into outsiders for wings and huge natural armor, I think this is a good way to do it, as LA +1 hurts less a monk than a pure caster. It's not like polymorph (which gives you ability scores), but still...

01-10-04, 06:31 PM I like the Mechanitrixes at LA +1, SS Half-ogres at LA +1, and MotP Bariaur at LA +1.

Almost everything else I've seen is either broken beyond recognition (Half-Minotaur Templates etc in dragon magazine, White Dragonspawn template in Dragonlance), not worth it to play (genasi, hobgoblins, etc), or worthwhile only with certain builds (aasimar/tieflings).

01-10-04, 11:28 PM I've found using Alter Self to change to Lizardfolk quite good at minimum caster level.
+5 natural armor, 3 natural weapons and +4 racial bonus to Jump, Balance & Swim.

At only 300gp per potion, its the cheapest AC boost I've found.
