There is epic versions of Bane and Disruption, and I would say those are the best. Bane for low-level guy, followed by adding on diruption, followed by the epic versions. There is also "Impact" for you buldungeoning weapons, which works like keen.

Except for the whole "immune to critical hits" thing. Doh.

Which never made sense to me, really. You could probably do some nasty stuff to a skeleton by bashing the life (heh) out of it with a big beefy warhammer...

Critical hits don't represent hitting particularly hard, they represent hitting vulnerable spots (important organs and the like) on a creature. Since undead don't depend on their organs in order to function, they don't really have any vulnerable spots to hit.

Holy is the best power for undead and... everything else.

Almost everything you fight in a standard game is some variety of evil. I have two characters with Holy weapons and the extra damage is practically standard. Plus it can't be regenerated by evil outsiders.

Holy is hands down the biggest bargain on the list.

But there should be particularly vulnerable spots on any creature (or object), despite the lack of vital organs.

'cmon, you can even land a "critical hit" on a fortified glass window (the four corners) :P

I made a prestige class awhile back that was almost entirely geared around learning how to sneak attack/critical various types of immune creatures that I thought was fairly balanced. So obviously I think it can be done as well, but it's probably not something you're going to be able to hit accidentally or with your run of the mill training. I can see feats and class abilities that allow for critical hits (and sneak attacks) on various critical immune creature types, but I think it's more that the common fighting styles that regular classes use are geared towards creatures with more readily obvious weaknesses. And for some creatures, like undead, you might very well need some type of supernatural ability in order to crit, just to hit whatever their weakness is.

There ARE critical places on zombies and stuff. Like their neck.

They just don't care if you chop their heads off.

Wasn't there a weapon in the Defenders of the Faith that was like a Holy Water Sprinkler?

Knock around undead with a magic one of those! And get them wet!

A Decanter of Endless Water can create a geyser of water 1 foot wide.

Vampires lose 1/3rd of their max HP if immersed in running water.

You can do the math.

Special abilities still function on a critical hit. Undead might be immune to criticals, but they're still dusted by dread weapons.

A +whatever holy ghost touch silver mace should probably see you all of your days, and it doesn't have anything that won't be just as useful against other foes (no silly crap like undeadbane or disrupting).

Yeah, I'm aware of that. It's just that I think bludgeoning weapons should be an exception. At least for skeletons. :D

Look at it this way. Since you do twice as much damage with a bludgeoning weapon compared to a piercing and slashing weapon (at least on skeletons), it's almost as if every hit with a bludgeoning weapon is doing critical damage. :)
