Okay, get this:

Any Large Sized Race.

Be a Duskblade X/Hulking Hurler 3.

Use Area Attack and Arcane Strike to great effect.

No, that's okay.

As for the trick... well, yeah, it works.

But if you're playing a Hulking Hurler, do you really need more damage?

Besides, Duskblade 9 (needed to get Arcane Strike) is 9 levels. I'm sure those nine levels could be put to using getting you a lot more extra damage than +3d4.

...no, I didn't. Wow, that's wrong in and of itself, a Gish Nova.
Wouldn't the "multiple effects, same source" rule prevent that?

Wouldn't the "multiple effects, same source" rule prevent that?If it did, Power Attack wouldn't work the way it does.

Although this was really meant to make sure that you're hitting anything you area attack... the damage really does get kinda sick, huh?

...uh, what? Why wouldn't Power Attack work the way it does? You power attack for a flat number of points, it's like picking the spell you want to sacrifice with Arcane Strike. Power Attacking is a free action, but, uh, yeah, if you were to Power Attack for 4 and Power Attack for 2, separately, on the same attack, it wouldn't be the same as Power Attack for 6.

Edit: on the off-chance I'm wrong and Arcane Strike is abuseable as all hell, a level 9 duskblade with 16 INT has 3 level 3 spells, 7 level 2 spells, and 8 level one spells. That makes (1d4 * 8) + (2d4 * 7) + (3d4 * 3) = 8d4 + 14d4 + 9d4 = 31d4 damage, and of course +31 to hit which means you can Power Attack/Power Throw your entire BAB away for +18 more (two-handed weapon).

Edit 2: a level 20 duskblade could do 30d6 + 24d6 + 33d6 + 22d6 + 11d6 = 120d6 by sacrificing all of his spell slots. And getting a +420 to hit, of course.

Edit: given number of spells per day and levels of spells gained, Battle Sorcerer can probably get the most AB/damage out of this Arcane Strike Nova thing...

...which still doesn't work, IMO. Or, if it does, goes into the "no DM would allow this" file.

Hmmm, PA isn't worded the way I thought it was.

Still, though, these are all unnamed bonii... although I do think you're right about the "No DM ever allowing..." thing.

Still, isn't there a "same effect in different strengths doesn't stack" rule?

Arcane Strike: ...The bonus you add to your attack rolls from this feat cannot be greater than your base attack bonus.Well, that caps the attack bonus.

You gotta calm down on the not reading the rules before you post stuff like this.

Well, that caps the attack bonus.I always read that as per-activation -- IE, someone with BAB +4 burning four fifth-levels would get a +16 -- but you're probably right.

And TrackStar, if you're going to be a baby about me getting you kicked off the Council, at least confine it to RPM.

I don't see why any DM would have a problem with multiple Arcane Strikes in a round. Given the stupid broken spells, wouldn't you rather have them channeled into full attacks?

BTW, the most Arcane Strikes come not from a Duskblade but a Cleric/Geomancer - that allows you to drop divine spells into Arcane Strike.

"Bonii" is not a word.

"Bonii" is not a word.

It should be; "bonii" is cooler than "bonuses."
