Big Tiger Animal Companion [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-10-05, 09:40 PM What's the biggest and nastiest tiger comapnion you can get for a druid? I'm making a druid whose companion is going to be a tiger, and I was wondering how to simulate its growth from little cub to snarling beast of doom.

If you could involve overtones of the moon with it, that would be great, because my druid is partially modelled after the Lunar Exalted of Exalted.

04-10-05, 11:04 PM Try being your own animal companion? You could be a were-tiger? Um... Okay, maybe not.

Dire Tiger (Sabertooth the same?) is the most feresome Tiger-type I know of. Dunno what template you could slap on it, but I think it requires you to be 16th level to have one.

04-11-05, 01:27 PM Legendary Tiger, 26 HD. If your DM allows animals not on the base druid lists, you could theoretically qualify for one by 20th level (with a level of Beastmaster, and the Natural Bond feat). Legendary animals make great pets, as they have all good saves.

A legendary tiger with the feats powerlunge & extra smites would be sick.On a charge, smiting with each attack you ad +26 to damage & 2* str mod.

on a side note, which is the official legendary animal listing? epic or MM2?

04-11-05, 02:46 PM Grab yourself a copy of Savage Species. There should be a section on rituals. Using the proper rituals, you can have a winged, elementally associated, aligned whatever... Of course, plenty of other things you can do. Wizards have a lot of spells that they can cast permanancy on, so there are plenty of things you can do to your tiger for a fee. Might I suggest "Animal Growth?"

If you're chaotic or evil, see if you can get your tiger bitten by a monstrous vampire. (From Libris Mortis, I believe)

There are plenty of items in SS to increase it's awesomeness, and I believe you can get a collar of magic fang for it...
