Blackguard optimization [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-27-06, 01:09 AM Basically core books only (for classes)
and include complete books for feats and what not.

This is the build i have now for level 15:

Rogue 3 / Fighter 4 / Blackguard 8

FEATS
CORE
1-Power attack
3-Cleave
6-Improved Sunder
9-Weapon Spec. Longsword
12-Quick Draw
15-Divine Might
Human
1-Power attack

Fighter
(level 4)1-Weapon focus. Longsword
(level 5)2- Block Arrow (Heroes of battle)
(level 7)4- Greater Cleave

this is what my stats are after adjustments (dm lets us roll 4d6 drop lowest, 7 times drop lowest so its actually qutie decent stats)

STR 16
DEX 14
CON 18
WIS 14
INT 14
CHA 14

Remeber thats after the mods of 4, 8, and 12.

So what items do you guys recommend to max out my damage with 1 hand (longsword) while still being crazy defensive?

Aiming for ac 35+ and weapon damage with a +15ish bonus

02-27-06, 01:35 AM I'll also add 2 weapon fighting isnt out of the question nor is a 2 hander and im willing to adjust my feats :D just need to consulat the CO gods ;)

02-27-06, 01:54 AM Your best bet is to go to Palladin 11, and then convert 10 levels into Blackguard. Then add on whatever you want afterwards. There is a blackguard in my sig like that, but it draws on books outside the core ones.

02-27-06, 01:54 AM The standard selection of feats going with the two-handed weapon route is Combat Brute/Shock Trooper/Knockback, which you should strongly consider seeing as you've got half the prereqs already for Blackguard. After that you basically become a power attack monkey with moderate battlefield control.

02-27-06, 02:19 AM Your best bet is to go to Palladin 11, and then convert 10 levels into Blackguard. Then add on whatever you want afterwards. There is a blackguard in my sig like that, but it draws on books outside the core ones.

i considered doing that but i wanted rogue first with able learner for use magic device so i can be a wand/staff ***** (area of effect spells when needed)

also with paladin 11 i just feel like im loosing a level with that 10 black guard 1 fallen paladin route.
