hey guys, i'm going to be starting a campaign soon in the Forgotten Realms setting. my DM is saying that the only books we can use are the PHB, DMG, and the forgotten realms books. i'm planning on playing an arcane spellcaster that is focused on doing as much damage as possible. we're starting at 1st lvl. the stats i have rolled are 10, 12, 14, 14, 16, 17. i havent assigned them yet. i am going to try to get my DM to allow the War Mage, but in the case that he doesnt, i was thinking wizard 5/incantrix 10/archmage 5. i'm still on the fence as to whether i should go with sorc or wiz. the only reason i chose wiz is that it allowed me to get into the prestige classes faster. i'm still a fledgling optimizer, so i figured i'd see what kind of stuff u gurus could come up with.
