| warman6111-14-06, 06:01 AM | I'm starting a new campaign in about a week, and I wanna play a sorc. As you can (probably) see, I need some critique. Here's what I've got so far: Human Sorc6 Str 15, Dex 16, Con 16, Int 13, Wis 14, Cha 20. Sorc1 Spellcasting Prodigy, Bloodline of Fire, Quicken Spell(Flaw) Sorc2 Sorc3 Extend Spell Sorc4 Sorc5 Sorc6 Energy Sub. [Fire] The planned progression would take me into ESoF, but it just sounds so terribly unoptimized and eventually boring... Help? Available Material: Complete Series, Faerun books, Core. No magazines, 1 flaw. Links to good builds are appreciated as well.:) |

Feat choices, attribute allocation and PRC choices all come out of what spells you want to cast. They're unlike other classes where you do the "build" by class+feat. Start with the spells. They're where all your power comes from. The rest is flavor and fine tuning. |

Since you want to be a blaster empower spell should be on your list of feats since it will help give old spells new life, for example at level 10 an empowered fireball will do more damage on average than a cone of cold and even at level 15 where cone of cold caps off you'll still be doing the same damage on average with an empowered fireball. |
