| necrosnoop11007-18-04, 06:25 PM | 3.5 were possible All WotC + Sword Sorcery Starting at 8 ECL Base Stats: 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 I am in desperate search of a template/race/savage species wizard caster build. I have given up hope of finding a solid savage wizard build I dont think there any good choices for a Wizard other than the unplayable (in my campaign), crazy, and bizarre black Ethergaunt. There seems to be some good Sorcerer options however (e.g. Sylph, etc.) so I guess its Sorcerer time by default. Now, my DM has allowed me to pick up the Bloodless Template from Sword & Sorcerys Creature Collection II, pp 218-220 for an LA +3. He is also allowing me to be of Neutral alignment instead of Evil. Has anyone ever used this template? I know its a big hit on caster levels but with Charm Monster at will and with crazy high Charisma I am really inclined to take up this template. And it totally and completely fits the flavor of the character I am looking play. Is it worth it? Any good builds for it? I was thinking: Star Elf (Magic Blooded [Template, LA +0]) 01 White Dragonspawn LA +1 [+1 Sorcerer Caster Level] 02 Bloodless LA +1 03 Bloodless LA +2 04 Bloodless LA +3 05 Sorcerer 1 06 Sorcerer 2 07 Sorcerer 3 08 Sorcerer 4 (Starting at 8 ECL) 09 Sorcerer 5 (Sorcerer Caster Level 6) 10 PrC 1 ??? (No clue on where to take this build) For those of you who dont have access to the Bloodless template its a pseudo-vampire that drains Charisma and charms it victims. It grants the Outsider type and not the undead but receives most of the benefits of being undead. Any input will be appreciated, Thanks, Necrosnoop |
| necrosnoop11007-19-04, 12:41 PM | DM nixed the White Dragonspawn, so far I got: Star Elf [Magic Blooded LA +0] + [Bloodless LA +3] 01 Bloodless LA +1 02 Bloodless LA +2 03 Bloodless LA +3 04 Sorcerer 1 05 Sorcerer 2 06 Sorcerer 3 07 Sorcerer 4 08 Sorcerer 5 (Starting at 8 ECL) 09 - PrC ??? (Lost on where to go from here) This character concept is an pseudo-undead charisma draining, charm monster machine. Focus on Enchantments spells etc. I know its a template from a non-WotC source but can anybody help a brother out ... |
| Ranthanas07-19-04, 01:06 PM | Bring on the sylph! |
| necrosnoop11007-19-04, 01:10 PM | I think the Bloodless template can only be applied to a Humanoid or a Monstrous Humanoid, so Sylph is out but boy that would have rocked the house. |
| necrosnoop11007-21-04, 08:58 AM | Okay since I am never going to be an optimized primary caster with an LA +3 due to the Bloodless Template how about taking up the Bard class? My Charisma will be at least 30 if not higher without breaking a sweat and my character is the enchanting type? (in both flavor and mechanics) Or would Sorcerer (& then Virtuoso PrC) still be a better option even at a reduced progression? Star Elf [Magic Blooded LA +0] + [Bloodless LA +3] 01 Bloodless LA +1 02 Bloodless LA +2 03 Bloodless LA +3 04 Bard 1 05 Bard 2 06 Bard 3 07 Bard 4 08 Bard 5 09 Any suggestions on where to take it from here? |
| Ranthanas07-21-04, 09:18 AM | Bards also want levels for their music (although they aren't as dependent on them due to being skill based). As for how to continue: you want two levels of Arcane Duelist (Cha to AC) and something that gives you Cha to saves if your Cha is 30+. Talk your way out of trouble and use spellcasting as a reserve. |
| necrosnoop11007-21-04, 09:19 AM | I want to actually 'charm' people not just slick willy them out of stuff. PS - What about Psion/ THRALLHERD ??? I know so little about PSIONICs |
| necrosnoop11007-21-04, 03:51 PM | Okay, let me change this thread to an open ended request for: 3.5 any WotC source 1) Charisma Based Caster (Arcane, Divine, Psionics or whatever as long as they use Charisma) 2) Bloodless LA +3 (Which grants 30+ Charisma easy) So, essentially what is the best high charisma-based caster (non-melee) type build to tack onto a LA +3 start? [Note: I know typically an LA +3 is not the best way to optimize a caster type but my DM okayed the Bloodless type and I want optimize from there but I could use some help - and I am open to any ideas] Thanks, Necrosnoop |
