09-11-04, 02:39 PM I was looking at Bloodline rules the other day and ... wow.

Let's start with assassin, who's death attack is considered by most to be pretty weak.

Rogue 1/Cleric 3/Rogue 1/Assassin 1/Blackflame Zealot 5/Teflammar Shadowlord 6/With a major bloodline (Demon) for +1 int.

10(base)+10(Teflammar Shadowlord)+8(Blackflame Zealot)+4 (Assassin)+INT

Start with a Grey or Sun Elf (Int 20). Add in the bloodline bonus (1) Age to venerable (3) Add in ability increases from levelling (5) And a tome (5) and top it off with a headband of intellect (6) for Int of 40. Total modifier of +15.

DC 47. Not, in my book, very bad at all. :P This works best with the variant 'fractional bab' but, really, isn't that what wands of divine power are for? :D

EDIT: Did all that and then forgot about ability focus and an assassin's dagger. DC 51. That means a great wyrm gold dragon only saves on an 18, 19, 20. I don't think anything else in the Monster Manual can survive this, without a natural 20.

Monk 6/Initiate of Pistis Sophia 4/Tattooed Monk 3/Fist of Zuoken 4/Major Bloodline 3.

Add a Monk's Belt, and Monk's Tattoos.

9 (monk) + 7 (Init Pistis) + 6 (Tat Monk) +7 (Fist of Zuoken) +4 (Tattoos) +5 (Monk's Belt)

You have the unarmed damage and AC of a Monk of level 38. Unfortunately, since the monk's belt doesn't add to speed, you only have the speed of a monk of level 33. You lose 3 BAB by doing it this way. If you're using the 'fractional BAB' variant, I suggest one level dips into each PrC, and focusing on either lots of core monk, or one of the PRCs for the higher level abilities.

Alternatively, for those who don't like being a wussy servant of the heavens, Monk of the Long Death can be substituted for Initiate of Pistic Sophia.
