Hey all!

I've been searching for an Ur-Priest build to bring into an epic level campaign that follows the RttToEE module. I found a few threads refering to LordShade's "Bob the Ur-Priest Necromancer" build. I did a search looking for LordShade's original post of this build, hoping to see a progression, possible feats, and advice on Archmage abilites.

Can anyone give me an idea of where I can find this? The BBEG I am looking to make is 21st level. So, where would you go with the build past 20 levels? What equipment would be advised for this build? I would appreciate any help, especially from LordShade, himself. :)

Anyway, I hope to hear some great advice.

Thanks,
Lord Moonstone

The Ultimate Necromancer:*
Clr1(Trickery and Death)/Nec4/UrP2/Mystic Theurge8/True Necromancer1/Archmage5 (total 21)

*Not really, but it sounds better than "An Above-Average Necromancer Build." The True Ultimate Necromancer Build would probably bear a lot of resemblence to this one.

You get full 9th-level Ur-Priest spells at caster level 14 (if I read it correctly), 18th-level Wizard spellcasting, and a caster level of 32 for Necromancies.

Wiz 5/ Pale Master 1/ Ur Priest 2/ Master of Shrouds 1/ True Necromancer 1/ Mystic Theurge 7/ XXX 3

the last three levels are commonly filled wiht Archmage. You could go for more True Necro levels. Or just dip into some other random PrCs that interest you, just so long as they maintain full casting for those 3 levels so you get 9th level arcane spells by level 20.

Wow... thanks alot Werrwaaa. I have a couple more questions ... I need to make a character at 21st level. I plan on using the Archmage for the last three levels. For the 21st level, if I get my 8th level in Mystic Theurge does it add to both divine and arcane caster levels or does it switch the even/odd progression of the epic Mystic Theurge?

Secondly, when determining the caster level for the Ur-Priest you add half the Ur-Priest level to the arcance casting level... equalling a caster level of 22 at 20th level (17+(10/5)), correct? If my assumption is correct, is it also true that when casting necromancy spells (using True Necromancer spell stacking ablility) you have a spellcaster level of 39? (22 divine caster level + 17 arcance caster levels) Is this how it is done? If not, could someone help me out?

Thanks,

MT continues its standards spell progression throughout its first ten levels regardless of total character level.

UP caster level is UP level + 1/2 other caster level. With the one level of TN these caster levels stack for something like 35+/- for necromancy spells. It's pretty nice.

Actually, it's the other way around, you add half of the non-Ur-Priest caster levels to the Ur-Priest caster level to determine you divine caster level. So in your example, the Ur-Priest would have a caster level of 18. Which is why True Necromancer synergizes so nicely with the build. It takes your slightly sub-par caster level, and boosts it through the roof. Which is 35, I believe, not 39, for what it's worth. Not that there's anything with a remotely similiar CR that will be able to resist or save against your finger of death.
