Wanted to play some funky creature, but were frustrated by constantly custom-fitting armor and weapons for it? Or perhaps it couldn't use certain magic items because of it's odd shape. Why not just take Vow of Poverty at first level? No more trying to convince the DM that you can wear rings on your tail. Just imagine playing a Silver Dragon with a VoP. "Must...not...hoard!!!" :) |
| Part-Human211-04-03, 12:00 AM | The preface to the feats restrict them to "intelligent characters of good alignment with highest moral standards" and are a gift from above, with DM's approval and usually involve a simple ritual. |

And act as body guard to the *trove* of a higher power (like Bahamut). But this is the wrong board to discuss this on. Please take it to the Book of Exalted Deeds board in the Mature Section. |
| Ambrosious11-04-03, 02:08 AM | I see your point, JosephKnell, but one reason I posted on these boards was to suggest VoP as a way to minimize certain disadvantages of monster classes. That's a "character optimization" thing, ain't it? Anyone have ideas on who VoP would be best for? What cool monsters have the biggest problems with items? |

| Part-Human211-04-03, 01:33 PM | Character Optimization-wise, Vow of Poverty is the perfect route to go if you have an Incorporeal character, such as from the Ritual of Transfiguration in Savage Species. I'm contemplating a human Anscestral Speaker(Dragon #211)/Celestial Mystic (BoED), Incorporeal with a Vow of Poverty as a PC. I haven't fleshed out the details yet though. |
