I was wondering what sort of spells to equip him with, and what 6th level feat to take. I was kinda planning on taking a houseruled "Paladin bond" feat at 9th level (kinda like natural bond) to offset the 3 levels of cleric interfering with my mounts abilities. Not necessary, just what I was going to take if I couldn't think of anything else :)

I have pretty much every book ever. (except for tome of battle!!)

The general direction for this guy was kinda to be the "undead lieutenant" of the parties necromancer. I was hoping for him to be a supporting niche...not quite as powerful in melee as the charging paladin/halfling outrider, and not as good at creating undead/casting spells as the necromancer, but decent at both.

oh, and no divine metamagic. It's powerful, and I don't want to abuse it :)

This (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=478716) way.

Gosh, its like no one bothers to browse the Index.

Unless your DM specifically rules that morality is different in his campaign, keep in mind that using undead on a regular basis is considered an evil act and will cause you to lose your paladin of freedom status. You might consider going in with Hexblade 2-3 instead of Paladin 2.

Look at the Bone Knight entry in Five Nations. It talks about that...you keep divine grace and lay on hands..that's all I really care about anyways.

and phoenix, I did "brows" the index...I just didn't find it. Even if I had, I still would have posted here...every character is different. Thanks for the link...but I read the Twice Betrayer thread when it first came out...not really interested in that kind of rediculousness. Just looking for general tips really.

and phoenix, I did "brows" the index...Yes, I make typos also.I just didn't find it. Even if I had, I still would have posted here...every character is different. Just looking for general tips really.Well, that's the cream of the crop - you just have to find ways to tone it down to match your acceptable level of "broken-ness". There's also Undead Leadership (Libris Mortis) to add more undead followers to your army.

Good idea. thanks.

Any others?

***EDIT
actually, undead leadership requires a nongood alignment, which a paladin of freedom cannot have. BUT a boneknight CAN rebuke undead, so maybe my Dm would allow the feat.

****EDITEDIT****
I actually just realized that a boneknight can REGAIN paladin abilities lost by alignment change. Looks like CN for me :)
