Core 4, PHB II, Complete series, minus CP, Heroes of Horror/Battle, Eberron CS, PGtE, 5N, Libris Mortis, Draconomicon, Lords of Madness, BoVD, FRCS, PGtF, some Dragon magazines, and finally, MM III, for what that's worth. All stats are generated with 36 PB, and starting level is 5. I want to make a Bone Knight, and I want to use Ur-Priest. Paladin of X 2/Hexblade 3 is a good way to go in, followed by Ur-Priest 2, then Bone Knight 10, and a final build of Paladin of something 2/Hexblade 3/Ur-Priest 2/Bone Knight 10/Blackguard 3. Good Charisma synergy, and I have access to the Serenity feat, which allows me to get Wis to saves, and Cha to saves (from Blackguard). I'm also open to a natural attack based Shifter, at which point I think I'd go Longtooth Shifter Ranger 1/Fighter 2/Warshaper 2/Weretouched Master 3/Barbarian 2/other 10. I'm not sure where to go from there; Warshaper 3 is an ok level, since it increases reach. A couple more levels of Fighter might be ok, to get Weapon Specialization and Melee Weapon Mastery, although I'm not sure. I could take 10 levels of Frenzied Berserker, but I don't like that class. So what can I do for this? I don't know which I'd rather use; it'll probably depend on what I can do with them. I'm also considering walking to Wawa and buying a bag of chips, but it's possible that they aren't open so late today. |
| DavidWL07-05-06, 02:36 AM | If you go the bone knight route: Since you list "some dragon", if you have access, the following feat is great: Truename, Dragon 317 -- huge bonuses for a caster. For casters, I'm a big believer in Mobile Spellcasting, although if you are planning on moving around mounted, it's less of an issue. |

The only problem is skill points. There's a bit of nasty cross classing going on that requires quite a few, even with Human. As far as the Shifter goes, I seem to recall working with something like that. I think it was.. Fighter 2/Barb 2/Warshaper 4/Weretouched Master 5/Bear Warrior 7. Used a Mouthpick weapon in bear form. Was a cat form in WtM to snag charge, had the ole Leap attack/Shock Troop/Combat Brute trio i think. I seem to recall he had Shifter Savagery, Shifter Defense, and some other stuff thrown in. Basically he buffed the size of his many natural weapons, charged in, and ripped things to ****. I scrapped the idea when it was pointed out that he would only get these bonuses when shifting. |

| Kresalak07-05-06, 03:11 PM | I think I'll be going with the Bone Knight. I think Paladin 2/Hexblade 3/Ur-Priest 2/Bone Knight 10/Blackguard 3 is a good path to follow. Now for feats... Right, forgot to mention I can use flaws. Specifically, I'm fond of Murky-Eyed and Shaky, but the specifics don't really matter right now. Flaw: Iron Will Flaw: Spell Focus (Evil) Human: Power Attack Level 1: Extend Spell Level 3: Serenity Level 6: Persistant Spell Level 9: DMM: Persistant Level 12: Cleave Level 15: Improved Sunder Level 18: Practiced Spellcaster: Ur-Priest Does this feat layout look good? I'm worried about getting Practiced Spellcaster so late, but I am a divine spellcaster, and can shore that up rather easily. |
| DavidWL07-06-06, 01:47 AM | Looks quite good to me -- and the truth is, with the feat requirements of blackguard and ur-priest (along with wanting to do divine metamagic cheese), you don't have a lot of flexibility in terms of your feat layout. |
