Hi, I'm going to be playing in an online Eberron game. We're starting off at 1st level with 28 point buy. It starts in Sharn, but I'm assuming we're going to be going out on missions for Morgrave University. I have an idea for a character, which I think I have down pretty well, but I'd like advice on how to advance him.

I'm going to make him a human Ranger. I plan on having him become a Greensinger Eldeen Ranger. I also want to play around with Action Points, so I was also planning on taking Extreme Explorer. Finally, I wanted to make him an academic (not necessary, but appropriate for the set up), so I was going to take Educated (which makes all Knowledge skills class skills).

That means, however, that my ability points seem a bit spread out. Greensinger Eldeens get Cha to saves, so I want to improve that. But I also want to give him a decent Int.

Here's my current idea on stats:
STR 14
DEX 10
CON 14
INT 14
WIS 12
CHA 12

I plan on increasing my Charisma as I level, so I can take advantage of the Cha to saves when I get it.

I'd appreciate any advice on how to level him, and what equipment to get. (Oh, and I'm obviously going TWF, considering my Dex ;) )

Bump.

One thing I'm worried about is my AC. Any advice?

I'm getting the feeling that the Character Optimization boards (or at least the powerful builders that make it function) are not buying the ECSB. Very rarely do there seem to be suggestions of builds which include a parts of the Eberron PrCs/feats/artificer.

Lots of people have asked for suggetions on builds, but few are getting a response.

Well, not everyone has the book yet. And if they do have it, they haven't been able to run much of a campaign yet. It's not as established as something like Forgotten Realms or Greyhawk. People will probably post more when they become familiar with it.

Alright, one last bump for some specific questions: How should I take advantage of Charisma bonus to saves, when I get it (which should be about level 8)? Is it worth it to pump Charisma for it? Can you think of any other ways for a Ranger to take advantage of a high Charisma? What about the rest of my ability scores?

The Greensingers all sound like bards to me... (Not kiddin, they do!)

So I'd moves stats around and take primarily Bard classes. (maybe Sorcerer) Can't think of much else as I'm not too good at min/maxing. I just try to let the genius rub off on me :hopeful:
