| androcles07-31-06, 10:50 PM | i was making a halfling character for an upcomming online game who, for story reasons, uses a talenta boomerang. Now i know that normally the boomarang looks like a suboptimal weapon CO wise (to say the least). However i think that this problem can be ameliorated 3 ways: 1. the boomarang daze feat, 2. the boomarang ricochet feat, and 3. the halfling's natural proclivity for thrown weapons. now i think i will be going with mostly fighter for the feats, but if anyone has a better idea i'm open. i might also use some thrower levels, not sure though. the feats i definately want are: weapon focus boomarang daze boomarang ricochet point blank shot any help with a 1-20 build? |

The gist of it: master thrower + boomerang daze + power throw = nothing to scoff at. In fact, it's kind of rediculous awesome. |

| SalParadise08-01-06, 05:53 AM | Want to abuse your strength dump? Great! Go with a few levels of Barbarian (Ape Totem Whirlwind Variant), maybe 5 for full climb speed. You get power attack at level 3 -- great for someone without a 13 strength. Grab 5 levels of master thrower, for certain. No real substitute for that. Grab a couple levels of fighter (for bonus feats), you'll need them. Throw the rest in Whisperknife. You'll have full BAB, all of which you can toss in to power throw, and benefit from the lack of any strength influence on your weapons, which makes it a dump stat. If you can dupe your DM in to ignoring the illogic of using power throw without using brutal throw, it's even better. |
| Zentinel08-01-06, 12:21 PM | WhisperKnife requires Sneak Attack. Where are you getting that with a Barbarian/Fighter background? Try this: Stronghart Halfling Rogue 1 / Ranger 2 / Fighter 2 / Swashbuckler 1 / Master Thrower 1 / WhisperBlade 1 / MT 2-5 / WB 2-9 Rogue 1: PBS, Precise Shot Ra 1 Ra 2: TWF, Weapon Focus Fi 1: Power Attack Fi 2: Boomerang Ricochet Swash 1: Boomerang Daze, Weapon Finess MT 1: Quickdraw WB 1: Rapid Shot MT 2: Brutal Throw MT 3 MT 4 MT 5: Power Throw WB 2 WB 3 WB 4: Improves TWF WB 5 WB 6 WB 7: Greater TWF WB 8 WB 9 MT 1 gives the Quickdraw which is a prereq to WK. Ranger 2 gives TWF and buffs your skills better than Fighter 3-4 The only downside is that you need to have a Str or 13 (rough for a halfling), and that the character doesn't get Quickdraw until level 7, so it's not playable until then, really. If you're willing to drop Whisperblade altogether, then Rogue can go, and it gets more playable at early levels, with slightly different strengths. |
