Boosting warlock eldritch glaive [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-15-06, 10:47 PM Let's talk about ways to boost a warlock's eldritch glaive invocation from Dragon Magic. I got a few off the top of my head.
1. Haste should grant an extra attack
2. Divine might should boost the damage
3. Of course the 2 causibles of fell power
4. Psionic weapon and greater psionic weapon
5. Sweeping strike can hit 2 adjacent opponent
6. The crystal helm soulmeld can add force descriptor to it when bound to crown
7. Would weapon focus (eldritch blast) add a +1 to attack?
8. TOB white raven tactics can grant 1/2 IL to damage for flanking
9. Presumbly all of the charge tactics and feats give a bonus to attack and damage
10. Cobalt charge it add attack and damge per essentia invested
11. Sneak attacks work on flat flooted and flanking
12. Divine favor, bless, prayer and aid should all work
13. It isnt a weapon so no greater magic weapon
14. all the spelllike feats should work like maximize spelllike ability
15. Supernatural transformation has been ruled by wotc not to work but they noted DM can allow it

What's I like to see is to add special abilities . Surely there must be a way to squeeze lots of stuff on it. Like say holy weapon lol. Next question I assume power attack wont work as it is not a weapon per se. I thought about pierce magical protection but that would reduce my spellcaster level and spelllike ability by 4.

09-16-06, 02:25 AM Unless you can go Gestalt I wouldn't deviate from Warlock at all. Unless it is a PrC that adds arcane caster progression. I would focus on feats that increased your combat status.
Weapon Focus Eldritch Glaive would work but only for the Glaive. You could also get Weapon Specialization Eldritch Glaive at 6th level Warlock.

However specialization is a stupid feat for a Warlock. It only adds +2 damage. Meh. Since you can make your full attacks per round with it and make AoO's as well I would get Combat Reflexes and Robilar's Gambit as soon as you can get them. I think there is a feat that lets you extend your threat range by 5ft. or something as well.

Can't you also use other Eldritch Blast essences on it as well?

09-16-06, 09:55 AM If you want to use it on golems, you're stuck with vitriolic blast. Flesh golem would be a horror to you as being immune to acid. :)

09-16-06, 02:33 PM It's an invocation to treat your eldritch blast as a weapon. Full round action to use but at least you can use your iterative attacks and AAOs as well.
