This afternoon I thought of a quest we did in the campaign we did the other day and how we were unprepared for the task at hand and how cool it would be to do this build. I'd like a build that was based on a bounty hunter. Justicier with Kensai mixed in to give it a little flavour. But the question is how to get there? Should I take fighter, or try out something else? Another aspect I was thinking (an abusive way, extremely I may add) is TWF. It states the +d6 for nonlethal damage is per hit and thus getting as many hits as possible would be quite abusive and substantial. Even beyond TWF I could go Monk and use flurry abusively and get a unheard of amount of damage (even if it is subdual, it still is higher than your conventional damage). I can only use Complete Warrior and Complete Arcane, along with core. Any advice would be appreciated.

Not sure I see the use of Kensai here -- it's fine, but doesn't have much synergy with Justicar. Watch Detective (Song & Silence) is good, but you don't have access.

Maybe something like Ranger6/Monk4/JusticarX, using Ascetic Hunter (complete adv.) if possible.

Im assuming you have the complete series if you have warrior?? Theres to ways i like to head with bounty hunter builds & they require them:

1.Human paladin of cuthbert5/urban ranger2/consecrated harrier3/justicar10
A religeous bount hunter, helps plot & has free TWF if you go that route. Can combine animal companion & paladin mount into 1 creature, it'll suck but its still quite cool.

2.Urban ranger2/hexblade3/occultslayer5/justicar10
A mage hunter (taking the feat tree for complete arcane), free TWF, good saves.

Both build use Urban ranger (UA), barely different but it has favoured organisations instead of armies & gather info as a class skill but not survival.

in complete adventurer there is blood hound...

very nice tracking prestige class.

It's not that I don't have the books, it is just that I am being limited to useing those two due to my frequent min-maxing in the campaigns I enter... So if you could possibly use just the two, I would appreciate it greatly

More questions:

1. So what exactly are you looking for? Your first post made reference to a specific quest -- are you looking for a build that just addresses the chores a bounty hunter will likely encounter (find bad guy, capture/kill bad guy, repeat) or do you want to be useful in a general campaign?

2. Do you care about skills?

3.. What level are you starting at?

Subdual Strike is neat, but don't get too carried away. It's subject to all the limitations of a sneak attack, PLUS it's subdual. There are plenty of creatures that are going to be outright immune to it.

What the justicar is great at, hands down, is grappling. But again, this tactic just won't work with a lot of creatures.

I also like the Strength-damage ability. A Rogue10/Justicar2 with Crippling strike will be dealing 3 points of Strength damage per sneak attack. Ow.

Both of Khazra's suggestions are good — to make the first one kosher for you, just use a regular ranger and delete the Harrier.

My second build is still vaible then, just swap urban ranger2 for normal ranger 2. so:
human hexblade3/ranger2/occult slayer5/justicar10
Take the mage slayer tree (i think it's in complete arcane...)

Its a nice mage slayer, capable of disrupting enemy spells pretty well, especiall if it readies an action to do so (*2 damage). Also, damn good saves & resistance to spells.

At first his focus on casters may not seem so great but in my experience almost all BBEG's are spellcasters or creatures with spell like abilities.

Bare in mind that this is certainly not an accident, by wearing down an enemies str you WILL be able to grapple them at some point. Maybe go goliath for stregth bonus & powerful build. Large manacles & EWM1 (uncanny blow) make you a pretty effective damage dealer for those creatures you cannot grapple.

I am generally looking to be good in the campaign in general, but I love the bounty hunter aspect of tracking down and capturing/killing them. Also I care very little for skils (big whoop, we have 2 rogues, lol), and also I am starting at level 1, this will hamper me but still I'd be willing to tough it out.

The idea of going monk then reaping mauler and justiciar came to mind when I thought about grappling, but I still don't know what to do...

Two Rogues, hm? What's the rest of the party? You guys may need some early combat help, so a high-BAB class is probably best to start

I'll second Khazra's approach -- though I'd start with Ranger. I might also build some Evasion into it eventually instead of a full Justicar progression.

Full party goes as follows: Druid, 2 Rogues, Pally then me whom doesn't know what to make his next character! :P
