| Rashomon11-09-06, 09:08 PM | So I've gotten on an archer kick recently, and I'm looking for a way to tie archery into a decent melee build. What I came up with was Wood Elf Ranger 11 / Fighter 4 / Revenant Blade 5. There's no real restriction on the order in which the levels are taken, except that Fighter 4 should come at a feat-giving level so you can take Weapon Spec and Ranged Weapon Mastery at the same time. The idea is that you build the core of a potent archer build with Weapon Focus / Weapon Spec / Ranged Weapon Mastery and the combat style feats, add the Rapid/Manyshot feats with levels, then finish off with TWF/melee capability, using Revenant Blade's not-inconsiderable bonus feat list to support. A bonus is that this build gets a pretty decent amount of skill points and can consistently maintain the Spot/Listen/Hide/Move Silently set over its career, and it even gets a small amount of spells to buff itself with. What concerns me is that even though there is strong Dex synergy and focus (with Str/Con/Wis coming secondary), I might be spreading out this guy too thin. It also hurts to have to take two Weapon Focuses (one for Revenant Blade, one for Ranged Weapon Mastery). What does CO think? |
