A friend of mine will start a pirate & swashbucklers campaign, and I want some fine tuning for the character I'll play in it. Here's what I decided thus far:

(Sources: Complete Warrior, Races of Faerūn, Tome & Blood, though I have access to pretty much everything)

Race: Half Aquatic Elf (because "full" Aquatic Elves have a +1 Level Adjustment and -2 Intelligence...)

Classes: Swashbuckler 5 (from CW), Wizard 1, Bladesinger 10 (from CW), 4 more levels.

Feats: the Bladesinger prerequesites, Water Adaptation, and the rest I don't know yet... there's too many good stuff around.

More info: I'll use a rapier, I'll get a high Int and Dex.

I will create a spell which will maintain a bubble of water around me. (If you know an already existing spell that could do that, tell me.). EDIT: The Sculpt Self feat will coat my skin with water, which will transmit the electricity.

I will get a sword of Shock and electricity spells in order to electrocute anyone who "enters my bubble".

EDIT: I removed the part about Lightning Immunity, since the Shock ability does not harm the wielder.

Tell me about anything you think of that would minmax the power of this Water & Electricity Bladesinger.

I came up with a name for this build/strategy: the Aqualectric Bladesinger :b:

To recapitulate, my goal is to have, in combat, a globe of electrified water floating around me. My source of electricity will be a Rapier of Shock or Shocking Burst. I just re-read the description, and I discovered something nice, here's the scoop:
from the SRD:
Shock: Upon command, a shock weapon is sheathed in crackling electricity. The electricity does not harm the wielder. The effect remains until another command is given. A shock weapon deals an extra 1d6 points of electricity damage on a successful hit. Bows, crossbows, and slings so crafted bestow the electricity energy upon their ammunition.
Moderate evocation; CL 8th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, call lightning or lightning bolt; Price +1 bonus.
Anyone who enters my reach touches the water... and thus gets 1d6 electricity damage  . AND I don't even need to be immune to electricity :schemes: .

I also discovered an über feat in Dragon 304 Mercenaries: Sculpt Self (in the D20 Open Game Content article on Prestige Races, page 47). Sculpt Self allows you to get permanent bonuses by spending XP. The abilities you can get are grouped in Focuses, which are chains of transformations.

The Water Focus' first transformation, Sodden Creature, costs 384 XP and coats your skin with a slick, transparent film of water. This grants +4 to Escape Artist and Swim checks and gives a -4 penalty to the ennemies' grapples. That could conduct electricity over the whole body, damaging anyone who touches the character.

The second transformation, Watery Creature, costs 4000 XP and grants water breathing. This makes the strategy availible for anyone who doesn't naturally breath water.

The third transformation, Saturated Creature, costs 10 000 XP and grants immunity to critical hits and sneak attacks. This is not essential for the strategy, but it's worth considering at higher levels.

What do you think about this build?

What should I take for my remaining four levels?

And would there be something better than Bladesinger? I'd like to have more caster levels... but not at the expense of my BAB.
